Obscure player who's jersey you would wear?

I have a Gadsden jersey and still wear it. My brother got it for me in Miami one year. I didn't even think they'd have it there.

When he brought it home for me, I was so happy.

I think most companies will make you a jersey of anyone you want as long as it is not the name/number of a current player. You also cant order anything with an offensive name or slang on it. I would like a Dwight Stephenson jersey, or maybe Garo Yepremian, or Reggy Roby, Nick Buoniconto....any of those old school guys.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think it's only the Dolphins Proshop which won't produce jerseys for current or former players except for the ones they mass produce (Zach, JT, etc.). The NFL shop and even reebok.com will make any name/number combo you want as long as it's not offensive (or Ron Mexico).

you guys need to add the player numbers if you can I might want to have a few made myself.

How about Mandich 88? A tribute to the guy who should be doing Dolphins radio broadcasts.

aaah, cool. Yeah, it was MiamiDolphins.com where I was looking originally, and they have some verbiage on there about not being able to order certain number /name combos. I'm pretty sure it says you can't order current players, and I think the way it was worded implied that you couldn't even get historical players either.

So if NFL Shop or Reebok will do it, that's awesome. I'm definitely going to order at least one, maybe two, "oddball" jerseys. Parmalee was one of my favorite players, so that's pretty much a given.

I was leaning towards DeBerg, but I've heard so many good ideas on this thread, that now I'm thinking about all sorts of other possibilities.

Keith Byars or Keith Jackson might be possibilities also.

I have a Parm. jersey that I break out like the old " Billy Baroo ".

- If I could get them : Howard Twilly , AJ Duhe , Woody Bennett , Tony ( Almost Gone ) Nathan & The Stroker.

Whatever player you get, make sure it was a good one, or one that is a definite joke. The Jabbar, or Parmalee's I don't think were good enough to honor with a jersey.

That's kind of the point though... If you wear a jersey of a player who is obscure / little known / wasn't a dolphin long / etc., it kinda tells people that you're a die-hard fan. I mean, think about it... If you saw somebody wearing a #17 Steve DeBerg Dolphins jersey, wouldn't you take on look and go "oh man, you KNOW that guy's a serious Dolphins fan?" Especially if it was new. :-)

I mean, I wouldn't want one for a complete scrub, but a player who real dolphins fans will have at least heard of, or somebody that was something of a fan favorite, would seem cool to me.

DeBerg would be a cool one, because probably very few people (outside of Dolphins fans) even realize he played for Miami. And he was the QB of the infamous "Snow Bowl" game, so a DeBerg jersey would bring back memories (even though he didn't really do all that much to win the game himself. Keith Byars, Leon Lett, and Pete Stoyanovich were the stars of the game).

Parmalee was cool just because of the "back story" about his path the NFL. Very inspirational, ya know? A guy who wasn't drafted, but kept training and working out and trying to find a chance to tryout for a team, while supporting himself by driving a UPS truck.. gets a chance with the 'Phins, sticks as a special teamer, then steps in and runs the ball fairly well when he got the chance.

Parmalee is a great story. He's now a rising star in the college coaching ranks. He joined Charlie Weiss at Notre Dame coaching TEs and special teams.

Irving Fryar would be sweet and keith Jackson.
