Not in love with anybody on that list but if I had to pick one it would be Ryan, and yes, I did crap on that idea a couple of weeks ago and I'm still not sure he is ready to step-up to head coach.

I like Ryans fire and intensity, I think he'd have to the drive to get it done. Most of those other guys, I question if any of them have it in them for another go-around. Nolan wasn't a good HC with SF and I wouldn't expect anything more out of him as the HC in Miami.

Getting Ryan probably means losing Nolan. Given the state of the Miami Defense so far that might not be a bad thing but I'm not ready to say that Ryan is better than Nolan. The defense showed some signs of life and kept Texas to 23 points, not perfect but they did their part. Ryan might keep Daboll around which could be a good thing. Completely tearing the team apart means more years of rebuilding and I dig Dabolls offense.

Unlike many here, I wouldn't pull the plug right away. Everyone knew the start of the season was rough and being 0-2 isn't that unexpected. I'm also not a fan of firing a coach during the season. It's not going to do the team any good and I don't endorse the suck for luck mantra

The good thing, it's a road game next week. Miami wins those.

If Miami can figure out how to play inside the 20 and leave the field with points they could turn it around. Carpenter missing twice was an unexpected fluke. Thomas was a beast.

Who would want the job.... I mean what respectable... meaning accomplished.... HC would want the job....

You have an owner that's clue free... and apparently a go behind your back guy.... you have no QB for the present or future on the roster.... a roster that's thin except for the DL.....you have a fan base thats fed up with the non-sense... doesn't go to games... and when they do show up chances are the opposing teams fans are just as vocal....

Seriously.... unless the Dolphin's pick first and the guy has total control... who would want the job!!!

Fisher is a former DC and I'd hate to lose Nolan. He's not what we need and his record isn't great.
Martz worked for Nolan before and that wasn't exactly a success, so Nolan would have to go. And Martz is nuts.
Gruden is all yee-haw and rah-rah-rah, but I don't think he'd be any better at out-scheming Belichick than Sparano. He's a motivator and he's been there, but we need a mastermind as a head coach, not a Public Relations Officer.
Ryan, I'm not sure what he's proven yet and he would certainly be the end of Nolan.

Cowher is head and shoulders the best option. Sure, he's conservative and maybe his style isn't what a Miami public thinks they need right now. But more than anything we need a guy to strike fear in the Pats and the other AFC rivals. A guy who has a track record of nurturing great coaching ability around him and who can instil a set of values and playing identity in a team.

I doubt he'll go back into coaching, but if he did, it better be for Miami.

Jeff Fisher by far. He's the best coach available. I do not want John Gruden at all. I'm kind of wary on Cowher considering he's been out of the league a while now. Martz is terrible. Nolan was a bad head coach and his defense has been disappointing this year. Only way Rob Ryan is hired is because this POS owner thinks a rivalry between two brothers will sell tickets.

John Gruden all day....

Fisher is not that great

Jeff Fisher is not that great a coach, he is only round about a .500 if you look at his tenure over the years. Tony Sparano is currently a .500 coach and no one wants him?

Fisher has a 142-120 reg season record - .542
Fisher has a 6-5 play off record - .455

see not that great.

Gruden.. another coach who punches above his weight. . yes he looks impressive with 9 play off showings and a 5-4 record inc a SB win.

Yes he topped his div twice with Oak and 3 times with the Buccs but he still only had a 95-81 record in reg season. . he was on the slide when he stepped into the booth . going 4-12 and then 9-7 for 2 years running, he could not settle on a QB having what seemed like 53 guys back there capable of it at one stage ;) ok ok I exagerate but you get my drift. .

no to Gruden. although over Sparano. . perhaps at this stage.

My pick would be Gruden. Maybe he would be willing to work with a GM. Its not like he wouldnt have any say on personnel. Sparano has some personnel say and can u honestly say Gruden doesn't know more than Sparano? The guy can't even put together a decent o line. Maybe Gruden would be fine with less responsibility and more time to focus on coaching. I don't want Fischer. That'd be bad imo. I used to think Cowher would be a good choice but if the guy still had the burning desire he d be coaching already. This team doesn't need a "savior" who s only desire is a big payday. Gruden, Ryan or some coordinator who hasn't gotten a chance yet. Just about anybody will be an upgrade over a crappy o line coach who is quite possibly the worst game day coach I've ever seen. We d be 10x better off letting the players go out there on Sundays without him. Ever wonder what it d be like to pull some drunk who knows the bare minimum about football out of the stands to manage a game? That's Tony, only he s sober.

I think we should not only look at a new Head Coach, but we also have to look at a new GM as Ireland doesn't seem to be able to address the real needs on this team. We have passed on numerous QB's, and have wasted 2nd round picks on QB's who had no chance of becoming a franchise QB here. This year I thought we would draft a QB like Mallett, but instead we drafted a Center....no offense to Pouncey who I really like, but the longer we go without having a franchise QB the longer it will be be until we can be a consistent playoff team. I don't think Henne is horrible, but I think he is more of a career backup QB than a franchise QB. Next year we have to seriously consider Luck, Barkley, Foles or Landry Jones.

I want Gruden as our next coash, and have him install a West Coast offense.

Gruden sucks, Tony Dungy built that Tampa Bay Super Bowl team. Gruden never could find a QB for Tampa, when he left they finally drafted one in the first round and now Tampa is on the rise AFTER Gruden left.

Cowher wouldnt be bad but it took him forever to realize he needed a QB and when he finally drafted one in the first round, he finally got a ring. So both of those guys worry cause they arent very good with QB's and thats what we've been missing since marino.

All the other guys have been head coaches else where, Nolan sucked in San Fran, Martz doesnt know anything abt defense, so ill go with Rob Ryan, he could be a good head coach. I also wouldnt mind Jeff Fisher

Come on. Gruden built the Raiders up and they played in the Superbowl did they not, against Tampa. He showed he could build a team. He also showed he could take one over and tweak it without starting over and win the Superbowl. He is also a high profile guy for viewership. I like Gruden and he is young enough to last a bit.

Rex Ryan didn't build the Jets, he made them better, and Rob certainly didn't build anything, what's your point? Gruden has something going for him that nobody else does. A combination of experience and youth.

Rex gets the credit sir. He has been great there. You have to say it.

I voted other for what its worth. Id take Jeff Fischer in a heartbeat if I were the owner.

What is with this myth that Gruden built the Raiders? Those teams were filled with veterans (Gannon, Rice, Brown, Garner, Wheatley for example) and his only great young player was Charles Woodson. After their Super Bowl loss, they were even older and went into a decade of futility.

You can't dismiss his Super Bowl win with the Bucs (even though he was handed one of the best defenses of all time) but I keep seeing this idea that he built the Raiders up. They had high-priced veterans in a different era. You simply cannot win that way now.
