1st vote is for Cowher.

Once again for those of you that dont know he won his division 9 times in 15 years and went to the playoffs 11 times. that is better than anything we have done since shula left.
He was smart enough to know that even if you want to pound the ball YOU NEED A GD FRANCHISE QB TO WIN IN THE NFL. They have big Rapist but he is a franchise qb.

if I had a 2nd vote it would be for Martz. I wanted him when we picked up Cam. Obviously the greatest show on turf (only on grass this time) would be beyond awesome. He would need a QB but hey, we keep losing and we will get one. he would also need recievers that are faster than anything we have now save one but they also need to catch. we would also need an OLine

Say what you will about the roster in Tampa Bay, Gruden was still a SB winning coach, but I would prefer a Rob Ryan or Jeff Fischer type. Could you imagine the battles between the Ryans if they were HC for rivals in the same division? That would be awesome.

the true battles would be chuckie (who already has the ring) going up against rex (who doesnt obviously) and belicheck. gruden would take a backseat no NOBODY in this division - rob would

Yes he topped his div twice with Oak and 3 times with the Buccs but he still only had a 95-81 record in reg season. . he was on the slide when he stepped into the booth . going 4-12 and then 9-7 for 2 years running, he could not settle on a QB having what seemed like 53 guys back there capable of it at one stage ;) ok ok I exagerate but you get my drift. .

lmao. did u read what u wrote? does that even make sense? are u trying to BUILD a case for gruden or discredit him?

I HAVE NOT SEEN ONE SINGLE LOGICAL REASON WHY GRUDEN DOESNT MAKE THE MOST SENSE. all the posters that have some negative opinion continue to post things that make zero sense. base ur opinions on facts people. or at least get ur facts straight!!

all this i dont want gruden cause he cant win blah blah then post he has a record of 95-81. and a WINNING record in the playoffs (not to mention he got royally ****ed in the tuck game - we know it and america knows it). and he DOES A HAVE SUPERBOWL RING. and noit wasnt dungys team dumb*****. and shawn king was dungys QB not brad johnson. BIG DIFFERENCE.

make some sense at least if u have something to say about the guy. love the effort posting his very good record of NFL success and trying to say hes not a winner - CLASSIC
 
cowher is the only one i'd want, and he's the only one this fan base would respect and give a proper ammount of time to get things heading in the right direction.

For me he is no carry over option to next year - HCs shouldn't be left with their pants down to their knees when they have half a year to prepare for the Pats

agree. but lets be honest. the jets havent even won their own division yet. what was their record last year?. the previous year they were essentially ELIMINATED from the playoffs with 2 games to play. 2 games left and their season was OVER. rex even talked about how the were out of the playoffs in his press conference. they only finished 9-7. it took every single game the following 2 weeks to go their way. and not just one or two games. SEVERAL games. and even then it took another team that easily would have won a game not even playing its starters in order to gift the jets a playoff birth. yes they did well when they got in. but simply making it to the AFC championship game and LOSING mind you is not all that great of an accomplishment.

for all the great things that are said, and so forth about the jets. the FACT REMAINS - THEY STILL HAVENT WON ANYTHING!!! they havent accomplished ANYTHING YET. this isnt a 12-4 team. they havent established that they are a great team yet. it seems likely to me with the AFC picture this year that the jets will get in as the 5th or 6th seed - yes. and making the playoffs 3 years in a row is SOMETHING. but that hasnt happened yet. and their success hasnt been established YET. so far the picture looks pretty good. decent start. but they havent done **** yet. they cant even win their own division.

lets wait to anoint REX please. can we at least please wait till he actually wins something meaningful? can we wait till at least they have SOME SORT of banner please??? i mean for all thats been done what do they have to show for it??? NOTHING. what are they? the champs of the wildcard seed? cause they dont have a division title. they dont have a championship banner, and they dont have superbowl rings. there isnt a single banner they can hang in new york. no divison crown. no afc championship. no superbowl.

so for all the talk. the jets havent done a DAMN THING. what if the jets missed the playoffs this year? what if the wheels fall off next year?

i love rex. think hes done a great job. think parcells is an idiot for taking credit for that hire when he had an opportunity to hire him here and in all his brilliance thought sparano would make a better choice - what about sparano made him think he would ever amount to anything here? insane.

but rex hasnt won anything yet. the one thing he has done is made everybody forget that they HAVENT ACCOMPLISHED ANYTHING. which means HE CHANGED THE CULTURE. and that is to his credit. it means he has a CHANCE to win. something parcells and sparano never had a chance to do here - they simply werent capable.

HE DEVELOPED THAT TEAM. ok? they werent winning when he got there. and rich gannon was not a perennial MVP candidate in the league - he was an also ran - a cast off. he became what he became UNDER GRUDEN. and this defense that was so great in tampa - why couldnt dungy win with that defense? year in year out dungy COULDNT GET IT DONE. WHY do u think the glazers paid such a RIDICULOUS PRICE FOR GRUDEN?????? 2 1sts 2 2nd???? are u kidding me? teams wont even give up 1st rounders for guys they intend to make their franchise qbs anymore (see arizona, houston) and we are missing the point - gruden ACCOMPLISHED what he was brought in to do. clearly dungy was dumped because he COULDNT get it done. IN FAVOR of a guy bucs ownership WAS CONVICTED COULD get it done and CLEARLY was willing to pay a steep steep price for because they knew that window was closing and it wasnt going to happen under dungy.

GRUDEN GOT IT DONE WHEN HE HAD TO. he did what he was brought in to do. HE DID IT. other people talk about it. LOOK AT THE FACTS PEOPLE.

no he wasnt smart enough to know that even if u want to pound the rock u need a franchise QB to win as evidenced by pittsburghs continuing support of guys like neil odonnell, bubby brister, and kordell stewart, and their last of effort in acquiring a franchise QB. THEY DIDNT EVEN TRY FOR 15 years. are u kidding me???? it wasnt until cowher lucked into one in HIS LAST YEAR that he got a ring.

come on man WAKE UP. we dont need another guy that THINKS his pound it out style and defensive mindset can win football games, and IGNORES the most important FACT. YOU MUST HAVE AN ELITE QUARTERBACK IN THIS LEAGUE TO WIN CONSISTENTLY OR WIN WITH ANY MEANING. you dont win championships without one. sure im postive well win games with cowher. im positve his style will be GOOD enough to have a winning record. his style is NOT what it takes to be GREAT.

im sick of GOOD, or aspiring to be GOOD. I want the opportunity to be GREAT. u look at his record - wanny was GOOD from a record standpoint - SO WHAT. that style doesnt fly. u gotta have a QUARTERBACK. and youve gotta understand that you gotta have a quarterback. it has to be the NUMBER ONE DRIVING FACTOR of the new coach. cowher is arrogant enough to think he can win without one. he will be willing to settle for a journeyman that doesnt make mistakes (or in theory fits that mold)

HIS 15 YEAR TRACK RECORD PROVES IT PEOPLE. get real. damn
