heard perry jones showed in nba predraft workouts that he can't play the 3...said he lacked the handle...thats one skinny soft playin power forward if thats what he's being drafted to be i know that...

rumors my celtics are after royce white nicholson and melo...

lot of talk about waiters being like d wade...many have pegged him the best one on one offensive player in the draft...

Ross can play either 2 or 3.

After seeing the treatment of Turner and Vucevic, not sure if Collins is the right coach for PJ3 sadly. Collins is more of a win now type coach than a developing raw talents type coach. so I'd be surprised if we took PJ3, and probably explains why they're showing such little interest in Drummond. Though I think Drummond would at least provide great shot blocking and rebounding day one but I'm not Tony DiLeo.
I get what you're saying, but I just don't want to pass up that kind of talent. There are many solid players in this draft, but of we draft Tyler Zeller, I'm going to go crazy.

I haven't heard anything about Perry Jones having bad workouts. I certainly think he has a good enough handle to be a 3 in the NBA based on the games I've watched. Room to improve sure, but he's much better than say, Thad Young. PJ3 can get his shots, he just has trouble hitting them outside the paint. Even if for whatever reason he ended up being a 4 at the next level, I don't think that automatically means he's going to fail. Even if he turns into a Thad Young type player off the bench, that's still good value at 15. Or maybe a Josh Smith type 4. Either way, probably the most intriguing player in the draft.

Jones went to Golden State and the general consensus was that after that workout they were no longer considering him at 7. You never know.....its always pretty easy to lie to the media, but its no secret that Jones is an undersized 4 that wants to be a small forward. Small forwards that can't shoot and can't handle don't seem to do all that well in the NBA, unless you've got Nash or Kidd as your PG.

Just like with Derrick Williams, Beasley, Randolph, Brandan Wright, Marvin Williams......there's a long list of undersized 4s that thought they could play on the perimeter and figured out once they got there their skillset just wasn't up to par. If Jones is willing to put on the weight and take the punishment he could be something special. If he wants to play like he did in college hes not going to amount to much in the pros.

Meant to post that last night. Probably forgot because I was too busy drinking myself to sleep after hearing the news.

In a good or bad way? I wouldn't mind bringing in a fresh face.

In a bad way. Crawford shot 38% from the field last year, and 30% from the 3 point line, and is a career 41% from the field. He provides nothing defensively. I just don't see the point as he offers nothing that Lou doesn't already. The person we bring in to replace Lou should be a pass first PG, or a spot up shooter that can defend. Another ball dominant chucker is not what we need.

Good point, but the Sixers might go after him to replace Lou. Who are some of the FA PG this year?

Edit: Just looked at a list, and a couple UFA caught my attention. What do you think about Kirk Heinrich or Raymond Felton?

I think it's safe to say that Terrence Ross and John Henson are this team's top 2 targets in the draft. I've been watching all the Washington games I could find to get a better feel for Ross and I wouldn't mind the pick at all. The staff certainly thinks he can be a scoring threat the same way Jason Richardson was, which is a great comparison imo. I have doubt he'll last to 15 though. I could easily see him going at 13 to the Suns.

If Henson bulks up, I would definitely like the pick. His shot blocking was impressive in college. Some of that should translate to the NBA level. His offense would just be a plus from there.

Felton is exactly the type of backup PG we need. He's a guy that you can trust to run the offense and make the right passes. Portland was a net 11.7 points per game better with Felton on the court last year. Hinrich isn't though. He's not nearly the player he used to be. His defense has fallen off as of late which was always his strong point. And he hasn't been much of a PG since leaving Chicago either.

Ramon Sessions is a guy we should look at. Jason Kidd as well. Andre Miller. Goran Dragic, but he's probably looking for a starter's gig with starters money after last year. Jameer Nelson. And I can guarantee you the Sixers will at least offer Deron a max deal from what I've read though don't get your hopes up.

If we must get a scoring guard off the bench to replace Lou. Jason Terry should be at the top of the list. Lou Williams leading the team in scoring should be enough incentive for him to want to come aside from financial obligations of course. Mo Williams, but no thanks to Nick Young. Marco Bellinelli is another guy I kind of like. Basically, I'd prefer the guy to actually be able to shoot 3s if it's a scorer we're replacing Lou with, not a wannabe Iverson.

my celtics are said to be hot after jamal crawford also...difference is we REALLY need some depth scoring...someone who can come in and fill it up in a hurry off the bench so i'm ok with it...

i don't think its ross or henson for you guys at #15...i don't think henson gets there for one...better shot at ross imo but i still think you guys go a different route...i'm more in the perry jones or terence jones to you guys crowd...and i think terrence jones is a solid pick...at times last year he was imo the best player on the floor for kentucky...i think he's a little underappreciated probably cause he would go ghost in games also

i heard earlier that the raptors offered you guys the #8 pick for iggy and you turned them down...

Pretty much. A lot of risk involved with Henson. He could be another Marcus Camby, or fail like the 2 UNC toothpicks to come before him in Ed Davis and Brandan Wright. Worth the risk though. We're never going to be OKC/Miami offensively. Our best bet is defense, and adding a top shot blocker to our perimeter defense gives us a championship defense.

I totally forgot about Terry. He would give you the same scoring that Lou would, but the big thing is that Terry would do it on a consistent basis.
