The biggest thing working against us now is the knowledge of Tannenbaums track record as a guy who looks for shortcuts and Ross being friendly to that approach.

In a vacuum the Suh deal is ok since the Cap will most likely go up and we needed a defining player on D.
In a vacuum the Stills trade is decent since he is young and productive.
In a vacuum cutting Wheeler and trading Ellerbee were solid moves to clear out unproductive mistakes.
In a vacuum the Wallace trade was a long time coming.

Yes we lost some flexibility in terms of draft. But I anticipate we will trade back in the first to try and recoup some picks.
I think we need to paint a wait and see approach.

One thing I have noticed is that you need elite players. You can always grab dudes off the street or practice squad to fill a how. Look at Kelvin Sheppard. We are building around Suh and Tannehill.

Some of you guys are pitiful. **Breaking** - The Fins were not winning the SB in 2015!

We dumped the bloated contracts of under-performing/malcontent players. Signed one of the best DL of our lifetime. Got younger, and increased our upside at WR and TE and all of the DL. Yes I believe Still's has more upside than Wallace. We still have the draft and the rest of FA to fill out the obvious depth issues.

I mean, you guys preach being real but want to p*ss and moan when we don't make ourselves title contenders in one year. It will take A LOT of time to clear up what Ireland did. Let it sink in, sit back and watch.

This really is Groundhog's day.

I've heard this line far too often over the past 10 years.

I wonder who's going to be the GM to clean up Tannenbaum's mess? I think putting some early Vbookie odds up could prove quite entertaining.

what mess so far would be needed to clean up in two years??? or would you more or less be able to build off it?

you got young guys trying to work in.... cheap contracts behind them. just got Suh and Tannehill needed for big contracts. rotation and players trying to go O-line, D-Line, secondary... we need more depth and starters which is what we are working on... Mike no doubt!!!

but mess? players? financial?

So he's created an Ireland sized mess in just a few weeks?? WOW, this is case in point to the freaking "T"

You're just projecting your negative outlook onto the future, nothing he has done in the last 2 weeks says that we are doomed in the coming years. Give it a rest!!

Edit- I'll put up my 4318 vCash if you'd like. Make it interesting. We will not be in as bad a shape as we were when Ireland left, whenever Tannenbaum leaves.

I'm being hypothetical. Since 2007, there have been 5 guys in charge of personnel. They've all had THESE moments where you got sucked in to cosigning their moves and eventually it blew up. Just get tired of the "it's only been one offseason" yet we have a coach going into year 4 and if we don't improve we'll be hearing the same thing with a new HC and no Hickey.

Just comical

agreed, agreed.... its tough when your team continuously digs themselves into another hole. time will tell on this one. but at least it isnt looking horribly financially with awful contracts and such... a lot easier to build on and with.

So this makes you an eternal pessimist? I don't like Philbin either. At all. But to criticize everything we do, because you feel our coach is going to fail in absolutely irrational. Appreciate the thought behind the moves and look past 2015. Our Cap for 2016 looks a TON better than it did right after the Suh signing. We got younger and cheaper. I mean I feel that if we don't produce this year, Philbin is gone. I actually have faith in Hickey, and think he has good conviction and an eye for talent. It's a shame. I find it hard to bash giving up a bloated contract for a self entitled diva who was not utilized in this offense. We were forcing a square peg into a round hole, kudos to our FO for realizing that.

I am naturally a positive person. I find it easier to look on the bright side than to wallow in negativity.

Re any talk of Larry Fitzgerald being traded, he just got a $10 million signing bonus and has a No Trade clause. End of story.

We will have to wait and see how they fill LB G S.... you know as in wait and see,

" It's like going to watch the movie Titanic...here's a spoiler for you...the boat sinks at the end."

Ya, and your holding on to the anchor rope... let it play out ...... see how it plays out , there is the possibility of being surprised...

Just a little FYI...large anchors like on the Titanic use chains...big thick chains. Mooring lines to tie off to the pier use rope.

I felt the same way and being a fan since Joe Aurer ran back the first kick off, have slowly been demoralize year after year after year and truthfully was almost spent on the Dolphins doing anything. But I now believe we have a better more perceptive FO and will give them a reasonable amount of time to see what their plans actually are (more than 2 weeks lol ). You guys could be right but to make the call this quick leaves me with little faith in your opinions..........let them have a shot and atleast see what they bring to the field in Sept. A personally I love Suh, jettisoning Wallace, Stills, Cameron, McCain in the first week.....

You have little faith in our opinions but you have faith the Dolphins will get it right? OK lol. What have the Dolphins done in the last decade and a half to earn your faith?

You want elite players but you want to trade back...that's quantity vs. quality. It's Earl Thomas vs. Jared Odrick all over again. We traded down from #12 to #28 and picked up a 2nd round pick from San Diego...passed on Earl Thomas, Dez Bryant and Demaryius Thomas for Jared Odrick. Which one of those guys are elite?

You can't have both. You either draft for quantity or you draft for quality. Quality is higher in the draft.

Very true. Personally I want Kendricks so we can have a legit mlb. He'll be there at 14, but say he's also there at 20, then the trade down is fine. But passing on all those guys for Misi/Odrick makes my head hurt.

Not every draft is the same Datruth. I know you are being argumentative for that sake.

This year we need bodies. Now that said if there is someone there at 14 that falls that we really covet then we wont trade down.
If we are scratching our heads about over drafting Kendricks or Strong or Collins and Dallas offers multiple picks then we may think about it.

The double down on elite scenario for us is Gurley at 14. But that is a risky pick with the needs we have.
