Official Free Agency and Rumors Thread

ATHENS, Ga. – Todd Gurley wore brown slacks and a grey zip-up jacket as he spoke to reporters following Georgia’s Pro Day on Wednesday. The outfit contrasted starkly with what Gurley’s teammates were wearing. Most of the Bulldogs working out for NFL teams donned black workout shirts and shorts with white lettering. In comparison, Gurley was decidedly overdressed.

There was a reason for his wardrobe, of course: Gurley didn’t take part in Georgia’s Pro Day. The Bulldogs’ former running back is in the midst of rehabbing a torn ACL suffered last season. On Wednesday, Gurley wasn’t able to show off his talent for the 31 NFL teams in attendance, a group that included Houston Texans head coach Bill O’Brien. But Gurley said there’s plenty of tape to watch if teams are interested.

On Wednesday, Gurley described his rehab as “pretty smooth,” and he said his plan is to be healthy enough to participate in an NFL team’s mini-camp in July. Dr. James Andrews, who performed Gurley’s surgery last November, refuted reports in February of uncertainty surrounding Gurley’s progress. Asked to assess his health this week, Gurley wouldn’t put a number on it, but he said it has been positive.

“I’m not a trainer, so I can’t really tell you where I’m at exactly.” Gurley said. “But I feel like I’m doing pretty good.

Are we really comfortable with an undersized MLB in round one?

Is this is Miami Dolphins forum ? Last time I checked ... The best linebacker in team history was PLENTY undersized

So if a guy is undersized and can be HALF of what Zach Thomas was .....yea I'm comfortable with it.

P.S I love you Zach #mancrush

Kendricks is 6' and Perryman is 5'11... Big deal. Those guys are hard-nosed football players.. I'd be ecstatic with either or. Although I do think Perryman is way better value @47 when compared to picking Kendricks @14. But if we had a trade down, I'd be happy.

I would much rather not draft a LB at all. If we are going with an "undersized MLB" then I would simply shift Jenkins to the middle. Guys a playmaker and with Suh in front Jenkins IMO would blow up. Then put Jordan and McCain on the outside. We would have Misi, Sheppard, and Tripp as our backups. To me that's a good group of LB's. Misi could play on running downs on the outside. I would go with this unit this year and see how they work. Use my draft picks on OL, CB, and WR.

Gurley can be special but the risk is whoever drafts him will most likely have to redshirt him this coming season. I don't think Miami is in a position to do this with our first round pick.

Sorry if this has been discussed already. Drew Rosenhaus said on WQAM this morning that he is expecting Miami to resign Delmas and commented Delmas' recovery is ahead of schedule. Delmas has stated himself that he expects to be participating in summer activities and ready to go by beginning of regular season. IMO I would like this signing. He's the best option at FS for us in FA. I know him staying healthy is the big concern but considering how good he was on the field and the lack of choices in FA and frankly in the draft I would do this.

I said in a thread yesterday I would prefer to re-sign Delmas (if healthy) and target a CB in the 3rd (trade up) or 4th . IF healthy.

Our best option. Plus, if he isn't resigned, who's going to start every interview sentence in 2015 with "Mos' DEFINITELY"! I think I'll make myself a "Mos'Definitely" GIF for using on here...

A trade up into the 3rd would cost our 4th rounder and one of our 5th rounders...would put us in the bottom of the 3rd round but leave us with only 5 picks in the draft, no 4th round pick, a 5th and a 6th.

As people around here have stated 3rd round picks don't matter...we already made the selection for Kenny Stills so why waste a pick in the trade up? I'm pretty sure the argument was we wouldn't get a starter in the 3rd.
