Official Mia/Hou Joint Practice 1 Thread.

looked like he was all about looking right before he knew he was coming left, also looked like Pitre knew the play was coming, he never looked left when tua did.
He was trying to look off, but the safety didn't bite. At worst, you got to really drill that in there, so if your guy aint catching it then the defender will have a hard time hanging on to it as it'll break fingers, he didn't do that.

No matter how I look at this specific play from that video, it was brutal. He definitely needs to learn from it as the season is fast approaching and this is essentially a basic play, not a 'we are trying out new stuff play'.

I never see you post unless you're complaining about Tua, go root for the Titans bro, nobody is stopping you. Peak mental illness
He's the most important player on the team, you're damn right I'm going to complain about Tua when he f**** up.

why are you ignoring Tua getting big chunk plays left and right in practice either? Yet make a big deal about a bad pick or two from practice when many good qbs do this too? And when from what I've read, since camp has started Tua has generally played well. And at times where the ball never hit the ground a lot of times in some practices where he was getting completion after completion, deep pass, intermediate, short etc

The only thing about Tua that I'm even slightly concerned about... I wonder if the practice interceptions are due to him speeding up his play diagnosis in an attempt to avoid getting hit. I hope he's not rushing things too much due to all the talk and concern about the 2022 concusions.
His oline being shaky (even in practice) doesn't help him. He needs to play to get the jitters out, realize his oline isn't as bad as it may seem (hopefully), and his confidence back up. Preseason or not. He needs at least a series to get his mojo right before the real bullets fly.

He was figured out late in the year. Take away the middle of the field and force him to throw to the outside. He doesn’t have the arm to get the ball outside on time.

The ball hangs in the air and allows DBs to jump the routes.
My primary concern is right here! If you take away the middle of the field, he becomes a completely different quarterback. Tua was the subject of a good segment on ESPN NFL Live that highlighted this. As a result of the game against the Chargers, this area was really put under the spotlight, this why some feel Tua was figured out last season.

Gives a very good breakdown on what occurred vs Chargers

Tua needs to improve in this area, and it needs to be consistently and if we can develop our run game we will be a nightmare for all teams.

For every pick Tua has thrown, in fricken practice mind you, he’s thrown 3x that in TDs. But he gets nit picked on the bad more than the good. Insane…… I just can’t with some of you….
And we don't know all the information on the ints. For example on the last pick 6, Tua may have thrown the ball where the wr was supposed to be, but the wr's route was slightly off or the timing was off for one reason or another. Also the db jumped the route, in a game situation maybe he doesn't take that chance out of fear of having Waddle or Hill getting past him on a deep route. It's easier to take a risk in a practice than in a real game situation.

I never bought into him. Too small, un-athletic and broken down. He had a good stretch last year beating up on bad teams and throwing to wide open guys in the middle of the field. It was never going to last.
Last year, Tua led the best offensive play we've seen in Miami since Dan Marino. Period. And he wasn't JUST "throwing to wide open guys" (wtf were you even watching?) He repeatedly made quick reads, moved defenders with his eyes, bought time moving around in the pocket and threw WRs open. The injuries are the problem, if he can't stay healthy, he has little value. But when he is healthy, he is OBJECTIVELY one of the best QBs in the league. If you can't see that, that's on you. Unless you're just trolling, then it's on me for taking the bait.

The second point is a very good one. It’s easy to take a guess and jump a route for a big play when worst case scenario, you leave a CB out to dry in one-on-one coverage on a practice rep. It’s something else entirely when, if you guess wrong, you lose the game for your team.
