Otc is listing 16.5, but Scarlett and the SF WR are not yet listed, so I used an approximation.

Gaskin would free up about 1.5, the next man up on the top 51 would chew up the other 1m.
I understand what you say about the top 51, but I don't look at it like that, because I assume you are releasing him to sign another player. Therefore the current #52 has no bearing on the savings.

So are you guys saying we’re out of the running for Armstead and what might be a 22m annual deal or could we get creative and back load it/cut players
We need to cut some players anyways imo

Jesse Davis, Cethan Carter, Allen Hurns

Just taking up money and space

Adam Butler is a easy cut to me. Makes like 4 million and is buried depth. No dead money.

I'm sure we will. They just aren't going to do it until they have to do so.

Who knows, one thing you have to give Grier credit for, is getting blood from stones (low round picks) with virtually valueless players.

Hell, he duped BB out of a pick for Ford, then had him back in a Phins uniform 3 weeks later....lol

Not wasting a year of Tua seems worth some extra dead/used cap in the future.

We don’t address OT, it’s a lost season.
Look at what Jacksonville has done so far to provide everything possible for Trevor Lawrence. Will the moves work? Who knows, but they are making a clear statement that they will aggressively try to add pieces for him to at least have a chance to succeed.

This offseason was supposed to be about giving Tua every possible tool (a shiny new toy would've been nice) to succeed, or at least be able to properly evaluate him. We still might accomplish that, but we haven't so far, and we are running out of money because we've spent it on RBs we didn't need, #3 WRs, and high-priced special teamers. Our OL was a travesty and Grier is saying the young guys need to play better? We absolutely need to add at least 1 if not 2 more starters to the OL. We owe it to Tua to do so.

We simply cannot go into next year's draft with the ammo to get a QB and still not know what we have in Tua because we failed to properly address what we think he needs to succeed. Then what do we do?

Would've rather used Smythe's money (2 year 8M) on OJ Howard (1 year 3.5M) and taken a shot at someone that can move the needle and not keep us in neutral
