*Official NFL Free Agency thread*

This thread has become so negative. We can't sign everyone. Collins might want to go to Cincinnati and be reunited with his old LSU teammates and Cowboys coach. Adams only wanted to go to Las Vegas. Just because they're available, doesn't mean they're available to everyone.

I don’t think anyone at 29 is going to be as good as Adams.

But Green Bay had Adams for what? 7? 8 years? And they didn’t win any SB with him.

So I ask, how does trading away our draft and sacrificing 20% of our cap space for one receiver guarantee that we will get to the super bowl?

Again you are asking the wrong question.

It's pointless really because its a truly flawed question.

Davante Adam's gets us closer to a SB than everything we have done this off-season with the exception of Ogbah.

It's about closing the gap and becoming competitive.

You say they didn't win a SB with him. Sure, but they were truly in CONTENTION EVERY YEAR.

No I am not yelling at you.

Nothing we have don't makes us contenders.

Adam's alone elevates us to atleast a decent playoff team.

It's about closing the gap and getting better.

You honestly think TB and LA care how much cap or trade capital they spent?

No they won a flipping SB

So, after a frw days of free agency, how hard does this schedule look?View attachment 101784

Looking at those defensive fronts.

Looking how we have kicked the can on upgrading our o line.

Those defensive fronts are going to feast on our team.

We need to sign about 4 more starter capable backups at QB to compensate for the incompetence our our management with the O line.

Espinosa, Miller
Boss Mack
NE,Baltimore
SF
CHICAGO
Cincy

LOL glad we got all those special teamers and backup WRS.

So glad we didn't overspend for a Tackle

I'm losing my optimism from a few days ago, just thought we could of done better with the Collins negotiations. Oh well there's still OL out there

We don’t want them to sign everyone. We want them to sign players that actually give them a better chance of catching up to the 8 teams that are better than them.

Brennan Scarlett? What the ****?

I don't wanna sign everyone.

I wanna some someone significant at our obvious weakest positions.

Tackle and WR. We have done nothing.

I don't need everyone. I want someone. Just 1 freaking dang legit tackle. Not a 1 year stop GA 38 year old.

Heck I would have been tickled pink with Moses Malone. But I guess 5 million was to much a year.

Someone

Not falling back on the draft because we were incompetent and cheap.

These 1, 2 year contracts will need to be replaced next year or the next.

We have accomplished nothing, because we will be replacing all these guys within 2 years anyway.

If you are thinking that way you might as well get the top guys for 2 or 3 year contracts

Oh now Grier is saying our young guys just need to play better.

Pathetic.

Even Grier given up

I'm starting to agree.

I understand the concerns with the cap.

But this nonsense is absurd. Not posts or posters, our stingy cap management IMO
The concerns with the cap are about things that haven't even happened yet and might never happen. It's speculative nonsense, especially with the cap going up 20 million-plus every year for the next several years and all the restructuring that can always be done. It's gonna be over $270 million in 2025.

The bottom line and the only thing that matters with free agency is whether we are closing the gap RIGHT NOW between us and the Championship caliber teams in the AFC, and the answer is a resounding no. The gap has been widened. The AFC West is going bananas right now.

Exactly. The cap increase next year pretty much covers Adam's salary. So in 3 years his 28 a year is gonna look GREAT compared to WRS getting new contracts in 2 years.

The gap has widened not closed.

Sad really cause there was no excuse. None
