Ok, Now I really like Saban

This quote from a article on his thoughts of leadership has finally won me over. I like the moves, not the spielman one, but the personnel. Now I get to see him more as a person and this impressed me.

that's the thoughts of a well organized, thoughtful, and good coach.

Training camp day 3

Nonsense, replacing Spielman with Mueller was a great move.

I just hope he is able to coach as well on the field as he does in his head.

Also that one quote makes no sense, he talks about needs Wolves and not sheep, but then he talks about not needing sheepdogs. Well if all of the players are leaders and not followers dont you think that we will have a bunch of players who say "**** it, This is what I want and I am going to do it." Leaders tend to be independant and self reliant. this is a team game where we should have a few leaders and the rest followers. Otherwise there will be a conflict of intrest.

I guess he meant he wants players who can handle on their own, not players that follow one or two leaders..it doesn't mean he needs 22 leaders on the field

Only you..you just had to, didn't you..

any guy who can make ricky come right back, is able to answer questions from the horrible miami media before they are asked, and has the balls to jump down a players throat for not being professional is a gift from above,

A coach who knows he has no leadership at QB. But yes I think he's excellent.

I think it's pretty clear that the strongest leadership is going to come from Saban himself

No doubt, that's why this guy just might be the perfect pro coach, no one will be allowed at any time to give less than 110%, if anything him breaking down Wright into tears like he did yesterday shows that.

I have always thought Bill Belichick was the most innovated coaches I have ever seen for both sides of the ball, but Saban has the potential to be even better, I do know Belichick has said publicly that he thinks Saban is a better coach than himself.

I don't think he meant it that way, I really think he want each individual to pull himself up by the shoe string and know what to do and do it, without a rally leader. I think if the reporter had asked that about any position you would have gotten the same answer. His answer is exactly what should happen in football, that's why I think he's deep thinker who come to some conclusions as to what makes a good football team. He's right if the LT is not in a good mood, does the LG follow suit. No he pick up the slack and takes it upon himself to keep that side locked down.

I agree with what you say. I was also impressed with the way Saban was getting involved with players as individuals, and helping with tehnique. So far he seems
"hands - on" in a good way.

I just love Saban's demeanor- night and day from Wannschmuck. He has let it be known bright and early that NICK SABAN is in charge and no one else. It's Nick's show-and if you don't like the way he runs it, you'll be on the first flight out of Miami Int'l. It feels so good to believe in and have confidence in my head coach again.
