OK, So Which QB Do We Draft in 2006?

Well, you said one thing right: Brodie Croyle does have the durability of a soap bubble. The rest of that didn't make much sense, though.

Consider our options...
1. Trade up for Alex Smith? Give up our 2nd and 3rd round picks for a player who's considered to be lower on most boards than the guy we got? Uh, no.

2. Pass on Matt Roth to take Andrew Walter? Pass on a first round DE/LB to take a third round QB?

3. Pass on Channing Crowder to take David Greene? Pass on a first round MLB to take a third/fourth round QB?

No one we would have taken after Greene was off the board was worth a damn.

memo to lil cuban- WE WERE 4-12 THIS SEASON! Fine, lets say you get your wish and we draft someone like david greene in rd. 3... DO YOU HONESTLY THINK THAT WE WOULD BE A BETTER TEAM NEXT YEAR??? :shakeno:... and you call me ignorant?! you've said some of the most laughable things i've heard all day.

oh, and by the way, kyle wright will be eligible. this is his 3rd season with Mia
 
I have to agree. I think we will regret not taking a qb in the 4th round. Aj just got a big nod of approval from Saban. If he doesn't improve or gets hurt we are going 4-12 again.
 
Chris Leak won't leave early. He's a very smart and good kid. He made a promise to his mom he wouldn't leave college without a diploma. So don't expect him to come out next year. I do believe in Meyre's offense he will have a break out year, but he does have some maturing left to do. He is still raw.
 
no we wouldnt be a better team this year but we would have the direction of a quarterback to start with. a fresh start is what we need and thats what we got in saban and we need one at qb too. and wait yes it might make us better depending on his play. lets see if he doesnt throw more completions to the other team then he does to us like feely then well be ok. feely got his chance and we saw what he had hes not going to magically improve his skills dramaticaly in one offseason so hes not the answer.i wish he was i really do i wish he was worth that second we gave up but hes not and we have to accept that and move on. i think i would of taken andrew walter in the second to be safe or even when derek anderson was on the board in the 7th. there were chances dnt say there wernt. we needed a qb but didnt get it. lets hope ferrote can win us some games till we draft a qb next year after feely gets cut or moves to third string.

Exactly, because the odds of a rookie Qb are starting are low (unless your Sf), especially one taken lower in the draft. They wouldn't even play this year, unless things got really out of hand which is unlikely.
 
no chance in hell we win 4 games next year and here's why.

1. Feeleys actual chance. last season Fiedler took all the preseason snaps with the first team. Now under a real offensive system, lets see what he can do.

2. Don't count on losing both starting DT's for another season.

3. The team quit on wanstedt.

4. Houdson Houck will make this offensive line much better than it has been.

5. Ronnie Brown vs whoever we had.
 
There's no way we're gonna get a top QB pick next year. The reason is because we will have the 32nd overall pick next year. :D
 
Why does everyone assume Feeley is our future QB, he hasnt even been giving the starting job for this year. Gus will beat him out. Ferrotte has taken alot of snaps in his career, and is very familiar with Linehan's game plan. Gus can actually hit longer passes that AJ would be praying to complete. With Ronnie Brown as our man i think we would be better off using gus this year, with AJ as our reserve and do whatever we can to grab the best available QB for us(even if we gotta make a trade to get a better pick to get our guy). Alot of names have been posted here, Leak has alot to prove. Other than him and Leinart, i really dont know much about any of the coming QB class. Marcus Vick should be interesting to watch this year.

You think a rookie will do any better? Grow up. Look at all the rookies who played last season. Palmer started out shaky in the beginning but gradually improved at the end of the season. Manning was horrible when he came in and didn't improve to the end. No one is going to magically get better. Palmer had a whole season and he was pretty good at the end. Manning had half and he was getting better, what if he had started the whole season? Would he be even better? Probably. Feeley started at best half a year in a ****ty BRAND NEW system. If we had given him all year taken the growing pains (like cinci and nyg) did maybe we'd know more, but wanny is a puss and wouldn't do it. Feeley did show improvement in the time he played,BUT he did not have a chance.

With the title it sounds like you think we will go 0-16

but with what you wrote it sounds like you think we will win more games. so what are you trying to say.
 
give AJ and the new offense a go at it, to much whining
around here....be patient
