Omg Aj Feeley Should Be A Pro-bowler!!!!!

Yeah, I think Feeley atleast deserves a chance. I mean he hasn't even had a chance to play behind a decent o-line in this offense. Marino wouldn't have performed behind last years line.

The problem is Gus couldn't even connect tonight.

He is used to throwing those deep balls to Randy Moss. Gus needs to adjust because Chambers and Company are a step or two slower.
:)

Frerotte would have had a long td pass to Chris Chambers early in the game if Chris didn't completely flub the pass. Remember that?

Gus is simply the better pick for us this season because one thing that I noticed him doing in the games that Aj cant do is avoid the pass rush by stepping up, scrambling, and throwing off his back foot. With the sorry state of our O-line, I think that might be the most important thing for a Qb with us to do right now unfortunately.

I think one thing that isnt being stated ( for fear of being called nuts) is that Feeley hasnt just looked better than Gus - he actually looked GOOD. Period. I actually think he's taken his game to another level (I'm not going to argue 2nd string defense and all that. he had farmer and morris nuff said) He's not making the mistakes from last year - the picks are gone, he's not staring down his receivers, he's going to the second and thrid receiver, he's taking the hits but making the throws. This is very positive - If Saban does choose AJ i think alot of people are going to be surprised how well he does this year with an improved oline and a running attack behind him

Amen.

Thank You, good post. He did not looked as poised as everyone says, and Gus did more checking off's, Feeley locked on on just about every throw. AJ had LB's dropping into coverage and reading AJ stride for stride. Football people see that stuff, fans don't. They see 1 TD pass.

It's worth noting that neither QB was doing any kind of checking or audiblizing in the first three games. Tonight they were both doing it.

Gus did more checking off....great. He's got two more years in the offense. Lets see the 11-year vet properly set his feet and step into deep passes so he can hit wide open guys streaking towards the endzone.

Haven't re-watched Feeley yet. So I'll withhold. But Jaworski kept talking about how Feeley was reading the defenses perfectly during replays.

People see one TD pass. But they also see one TD in three drives.

And we still don't have a named starter.

gusketeers need to realize that gus has no future with this team. so why start him?

Because, in my opinion, he gives us the best chance to win this season.

(insert sarcasm)... People, look beyond the numbers and watch the games. Feeley might be connecting, but it is against 2nd team defenses for 1 yard and hopes his receivers get some more for him. What has he shown? He can complete 1-2 yd passes, gus could do that if he was asked. I still think Gus is by far the best QB we have and STFU about feeley's completions, b/c a 3rd and 10 play thrown for 2 yds may be a completion, but it is far from a first down....

Thank god. I was wondering if someone would start a thread about Feeley or Frerotte's play tonight... <------ (inserted sarcasm)

You're right. Feeley was good playing against 2nd/3rd team defenses.

What YOU people seemingly want to ignore is that while Feeley was doing that, he was also surrounded by 2nd/3rd team OL, WR, RB, etc.

Did everyone see that amazing play Farmer made, where he caught the 1 yard pass and threaded the defense for 35 YAC and a TD? Was amazing.

And about the STFU thing.... How is that not against forum policy? I can't stand punks that say things like that to people on the internet, where they don't have to worry about eating a fist.

If Chambers had that touchdown it would have been luck bcuz his body fell into the endzone. I carefully watched the replay of that and you know what I saw? The ball was headed out of bonds and just as Chambers touched it he had to drag his feet to stay in bounds. They slowed it down so you see chris tip toes right on the line and his hands just touching the ball. Granted he should have had that, most superstar wide recievers would have but it was still a difficult catch. It wasn't all Chambers fault, Gus threw it a little two far to the outside. And like i said even if chambers made the circus catch he would have fallen out of bounds a few yards shy of the td.

Well, I'm not saying I don't think Chambers should have caught the pass, but c'mon. He was laid out, with his toes just in-bounds, the rest of his body out-of-bounds, and it was off his fingertips. And it wouldn't have been a touchdown.

What some of you may be failing to realize is that Gus Ferotte was brought in as a backup who knew the system. I believed that since the begining, the only way that Gus would start would be if Feeley completely craped the bed; as long as Feeley kept it close he would be the starter. Look, Ferotte is too old to be taught new tricks(like being an effective starting quarterback), Feeley may or may not be our future(not saying) but Saban needs to find out for sure. Regardless, the Guskateers need to admit it to themselfs, Feeley outplayed Ferotte the past two games; it is as simple as that.

Then he should be outplaying AJ by leaps and bounds but even Saban stated tonight:
Saban pointed out that in all four of Miami's games, the quarterback who has played second has played better, and he indicated the staff is still evaluating the position.

I think this is a good indication that Saban felt AJ played the best.

AJ Feeley leads the Dolphins to Victory

Wow, even the title of that article says it all.

Just to fill you in..isn't the West Coast Offense, the best Offensive system ever devised and used effectively by great quarterbacks, a bunch of short passes with plenty of bootlegs and rollouts? HMMMM I'll be watching the game in a few hours on NFL Network. I'll form my own opinions...

I'm going to make it bluntly clear............

All of you arguing this QB situations are f*ckin' morons. What? Morons? Yes f*ckin' morons. This whole QB debacle has yet again divided fans just because they want so badly to be right. Isn't it amazing that any fan of an NFL team can blindly back AJ Feeley........or Gus Frerotte? Back them to the point they have to come on an internet message forum and argue the same points for months on end...........

Seriously, get a life people. Get tested for autism or perhaps mental r*tardation because your personally biased optimism for either of those two QB's is unjustified and a complete waste of time. I never thought I'd see the day when my fellow Fin fan bretheren would be arguing over a journeyman 34 year old QB who once knocked himself out of a game by head-butting a wall and a 28 year old virtual rookie. That's sad. Especially when you consider who the legend was that used to man the position for this once successful franchise.

Grow up guys.............seriously...............

mod: Bye. 1 week. .
