Problem is, pure and simple.... we have two second string QB's that don't appear to be up to the task of doing what's necessary to become a starting caliber QB in this league.

Thank You, good post. He did not looked as poised as everyone says, and Gus did more checking off's, Feeley locked on on just about every throw. AJ had LB's dropping into coverage and reading AJ stride for stride. Football people see that stuff, fans don't. They see 1 TD pass.

While i believe what you are saying, and I notice it myself, he is getting better. but the one he threw to Lee that was lucky and got through the defenders hands would have been a turnover for sure on an experienced LB for some team, and it may have gone the other way for a TD. Those are the things that you will not see out of Gus but you still will out of AJ. I also noticed the ball that was blocked at the line of scrimmage is another example of where the linemen and LB's read him.

what are you talking about you wont see that out of gus. he threw that pass on the sidelines that went right threw ronde barbers hands. that wouldve been his second pick of the game. you are going to see alot of interceptions with gus if he doesnt get his game going

Oh my God, someone gets it. Joe Montana made a living throwing passes <10 yards and allowing recievers to make plays. AJ has looked good in the last two preseason games! He has done what he has to do to move the ball. Gus is not what we need guys. He missed 4, yes go back and count them 4, open to wide open recievers for either big gains or TD. We just can not have that! Now imagine for a second that instead of Donald "cant catch a cold" Lee that AJ was throwing to Randy, then the ball that Lee droped near the goal line (yes I know it was a good hit by the safety but come on a reciever gets two hands on the ball it must be caught) that AJ would have had another TD last night. No, I dont get it. I think this is a line of BS. Those slants that your talking about are the ones that get picked and go the other way cus thats all they can do good and the defense knows its coming and then you see 6 points in the other direction.

(insert sarcasm)... People, look beyond the numbers and watch the games. Feeley might be connecting, but it is against 2nd team defenses for 1 yard and hopes his receivers get some more for him. What has he shown? He can complete 1-2 yd passes, gus could do that if he was asked. I still think Gus is by far the best QB we have and STFU about feeley's completions, b/c a 3rd and 10 play thrown for 2 yds may be a completion, but it is far from a first down....

but its not the type of throw a DB can take for 6 points the other way because the ball is thrown downfield to the sideline. AJ likes the short stuff and the D reads it and wammo, the guy is going the other way. In case you havent noticed, Gus is the one throwing the ball downfield mostly and trying to get on the same page with his recievers. Aj is playing footsie with defenses. I give him credit for the TD pass to Farmer.

Hate to break it to you, but if Barber caught that it was 6 the other way. Anything to the sidelines has a higher chance to be returned for a TD. There was nothing in Barbers way either. He just tried to get to the endzone before he caught the ball.

although i understand your point about slants being more likely to be taken back for six that play on the sideline wouldve gone for six. there was noone between him and the endzone. that's probably why barber let it go thtrough his hands he was thinking touchdown when he shouldve been thinking catch.

i disagree somewhat about your post. I think the reason we as fans are debating this so strongly is due to the fact that its so close a competition. This isnt as if Marino is the QB and people are screaming for Gus to unseat him. Its Gus and AJ. The other reason people are so passionate about it is what both QBs represent (outside of the who's better argument). Gus is a stop gap QB whose fans believe he gives them the best chance to win this season. They watched Feeley last year and have decided that he will never turn into a legitimate Quarterback. Next year's draft will address the qb situation in their mind and they dont want aj playing this year.

The Feeley supporters (and I am one) see enough potential in him to give him the job. I havent written Feeley off. I think he might develop into a solid top 20 qb if he's allowed to play out the entire season. Additionally the Feeley supporters see improvement in his game from last season. The Feeley supporters believe that he has a shot to be good enough that the Dolphins could consider drafting some other position next year like left tackle and don't want to waste what they consider a wasted year anyway in finding out if Feeley is a diamond or a lump of coal

The reason it gets so heated is because of how close it is. Who starts this year will impact next year and thats why the passion is there. Does it get out hand - yes. is it repetitive - yes. but so what. at least there's real passion here and its great to see dolphin fans caring so much. noone is going to root against us just because their qb isnt named the starter
