Opinion..is this game a franchise changer or just another regular season game?

For what it's worth, I think that it's a very important game, because it's against Brady and I really think that we will win it. (OK I'm an optimist and we have been let down before, but I'm pretty confident).

we can't go 0-2 to any team in our division. It's payback time. If they don't come out swinging then yes, we're the same 'ol Fins.
I don't want to beat the Pats by a FG…. I want to embarrass them with a 20 pt. win.

The word is relevancy. If we win, we have it. It's the Patriots, the kings of the hill, the bully. We MUST win this to show the NFL, and the fans that this is the group to move forward with in the future.
If we lose, we are just who everyone says we are. A bench sitter to the Pats in the Nfl.

Seems like everyone is on the same page with this idea. Man i hope we're not let down, it would be devastating.

I think people are forgetting that winning this game is gravy. We can lose this game and not have it effect our playoff chances so that alone diminishes it's importance. Losing to the Bills again or the hapless Jets will be a huge disappointment and a indictment on the front office and coaching staff. We want this game because it is winnable but not a do or die situation yet.

It kinda depends on how we lose, if we lose. I mean, if we lost the way that Cleveland lost on Sunday, then I wouldn't be hating the Dolphins, I'd be hating the NFL (I kinda do already). If there's some absolutely heinous call that wrecks a full 3 hours worth of good effort then I'm boycotting f'n league unless we somehow squeak in at 9-7.

Also, if we lost this game and the Patriots wound up winning the Superbowl, then ya can't feel too bad cuz ya know you're losing to the best. But if we lose this game and Patriots go 1-done in the playoffs themselves then I'm gonna feel like we're never getting there.

I think if we lose this game, we'll lose to Buffalo (unless it's a total BS referee call that kills us). If the Pats flat-out beat us, we will definitely lose to Buffalo cuz our confidence will be shot and guys will quit, subconsciously. In fact, I bet we could lose all these 3 games if we don't win this game.

Also, I can't see 9-7 getting us in. Baltimore owns the tie-breaker against us and I don't think they're losing more than one more game, if any.

True but we know we're better than the bills and jets, there's nothing to prove there. Every year we want to be in the same conversation as New England for the division, every year they win by default. We want to be that team, so while winning this game is not necessary for playoff hope, it's an important step for the franchise. Can we really lose another game to them?

Baltimore is playing that good that you think they'll win out? On the road at Detroit, a team playing for their playoff lives AND division crown. New England, a team playing for home field and cinci a team thats just about as hot as anyone right now.

Yeah, I might be giving Baltimore too much credit. That schedule is murderers row, with two being on the road. However, they do have a history of beating NE and that game is at home, and I do think that Cincy will lay down and rest starters in week 17. Plus, Detroit has shown that they can be beat. I really do think Baltimore is gonna find a way to win at least 2 of those games.
If Miami doesn't win out, they don't get in. Just acclimate yourself with that thought now.

Baltimore has shown all the resiliency and mental toughness that has eluded Miami over the years.

Well if sd wins its last two and Balt. And miami go 2-1, miami gets in.

But if we lose this game, i really don't want to get in.

The only "different" team on the field will be the Pats. They just aren't as good as they were. Period. So, beating them will be nothing really special...except in the minds of homers...

It's not a "franchise changer" because we're not playing the Pats at their full strength. This is more of a potential "shoot yourself in the foot" game because a loss to the Pats means we're still non-consequential. And to all the "omg, the refs, the refs" folks, if we let this walking-dead, skeleton crew of a football team keep this game so close that a 4th quarter call could swing it for them... then shame on us. If we're for real, we bury this Pats team in Miami.

While this game is huge, I would not say it's a Franchise Changing game. I would say Season changing though.

Like it says guys and girls. Here me out, 5 straight years losing to this team, their talent is depleted and this team has been getting lucky all year long. If we lose this game, i really feel we're not turning the corner. It's almost getting to the point where they can throw 53 guys on a field and just beat us. Yeah Brady and bellicheck have everything to do with it but this MUST end on Sunday. Do you guys even want to make the playoffs if we lose this game? What's the point, it would be one and done. We SHOULD beat this team on Sunday, if not this will be a devastating loss. We're about to find out if this is truly a different dolphin team or if its the same ol phins.

This is the biggest game of Philbin and Tannehill's careers up until this point. If Miami is going to make the postseason they obviously have to win this game (maybe not technically but they need to establish they have BALLS). You can't continue to be swept by the team you're trying to catch.
