Our passing game vs the new-look patsies

Revis can actually take away one guy. Aqib Talib can try and take away one guy. He matches up well with Clay. That's the only reason why he could take him away from the game. Revis matches up well with everybody.

So he just happened to match up well against Julio Jones and Roddy White too then? Billicheck will put Revis on the guy he views as the biggest threat just as he did with Talib and that will be Clay unless Wallace blows up with production.

The Falcons were horrible last year, and Aqib Talib was very overrated. The fact that you're attempting to argue that Talib and Revis is a wash is absolutely laughable. They weren't in the same realm last year by any measure. Talib was below average/bad in coverage. Revis was a top 5 cover corner last year, and he was in zone the entire time.

Why because PFF said so? His stats are inflateted simply because nobody throws his way meaning he takes 1 guy from the opposition out of the picture. In the NFL now there are 4 different guys to give the ball to instead of throwing his way.

Simply for the dolphins sake it is a wash because Talib eliminated 1 guy and thats at the most what Revis will be able to do seeing as his can cover 2 guys at once. Im not saying Tlib is as good or better but come game day all they can do is cover 1 guy and Talib was able to do that last year. What makes you think Revis will be able to accomplish more against us this year? He will be told to cover and eliminate either Clay, Wallace, Hartline, Gibson, Miller, or Mathews. That leaves the guys he isnt covering against the rest of the secondary.

The pats secondary wont scare too many teams its their front 7 that will make or break their defence.

Revis is better than Talib at taking one guy away. Period. It isn't a wash. It isn't close. It isn't an argument. You're just wrong. You've provided nothing to disprove my point or prove yours. I had this same conversation with a guy a couple of days ago. Just because he went to the Patriots doesn't mean that he sucks.

When did i say he sucked? He was great with the Jets , great last year with the Bucs, and will be great next year with the Pats. That doesnt change that at most he eliminates 1 guy on Offence which is exactly what Talib did last year. He will do the exact same Job as Talib did for the pats against us and Talib did a perfect job so how do expect Revis to be better than Perfect? He cant be in 2 places at once meaning he can only cover 1 guy.

You said that he and Talib are a wash. Talib sucked last year. Talib wasn't a guarantee shutdown of one of our guys. It happened to be that way, but it most certainly wasn't a guarantee. Revis is a guarantee. That's the difference.

I think the point is, Talib played great last year and took one guy away. Revis is going to only be able to take one player away again. I'm hoping our run game is much improved and we can shove it down the pats throats.

I understand that, but it's still not even close to being the same thing. You're not going to gameplan avoid Talib all game. You might gameplan to not throw Revis's way. That's a huge difference.

I saw Talib get burned last year by S Smith ("ice up son") and Gordon. I'm way more concerned w Revis than Talib.

Landed Revis and Browner. Wow. How do we match up? Their pass defense was soft last year - it won't be this year. Does this alter our draft plans at all? If so, how? If not, why not?

Better to look at both team's pass O v. opponent pass D.

If Miami lands Strief, they should have a very nice OL vs. a anemic NE pass rush which will probably lose Wilfork. T-Hill should have awhile to throw.

Miami has three starting caliber WRs. Probably needs to draft another big WR to compete with Mathews and Binns as the #4 WR and should seriously consider drafting Ebron at TE in the 1st round.

NE two new CBs can only cover two of the 3-4 WRs and none of the TEs. Pouring a mint into these two positions and paying a HOF QB means other positions go wanting, as I note below.

Miami should have a better pass rush this year with Mitchell, and Jordan hopefully finding a more prominent role. The NE OL is the same - OK.

I am amazed that Belichick did not sign a top tier WR to pair with Edelman. Brady only has a couple years left and needs weapons. Hell, Brady could not score with his WRs against our backup safeties at the end of the 2013 loss to MIA.

MIA's signings of Finnegan and Dalmas say to me that they want to punch opposing receivers in the mouth, which is how the Giants and Ravens always beat NE. If Finnegan returns to 90% of his 2011 form and the sophomore CBs develop, Miami has a deep and talented secondary.
