our top 5 QB'S since Marino?

Based on impact on team in a Miami Uni:
1. Pennington (that 2008 year, he was just a flat out good QB)
2. Fiedler (his record gets him the spot)
3. Frerotte (winning six straight to close out season was awesome and still feel he was one of the most underrated QB's that year, he took C. Chambers to new levels)
4. Tannehill (where he stands right now, could rise up, dont think he can fall down past 4 though)
5. Crap shoot bunch you could make a case for in this useless spot but I would have to say M. Moore and you could argue maybe J. Harrington or C. Henne (kinda sucks i gotta throw them in there but who else?)

this is a real difficult question for me.we had so many flops so many promsing rookies.my list is as follows
1 Fiedler
although not a great player by any means he was a winner.even with Wanstash as coach
2 Pennington
if he was here longer he may have really helped us
3 Tannenhill
he has so much talent but is frustrating as well.so many bad throws and sacks
4 Moore
really thought he was the man until we drafted RT at #8
5 did we really have a #5?Trent Green i guess

Fiedler should never had made the list Marino's heir should have been Huard ! Wanny was an idiot with his man love for Fielder !

Freakin Huard. He went on to perform great for the Chiefs for a short time. You're right. He should have been the heir to Marino.

I don't get the Chad Pennington argument. Noodle arm was a dink and dunker during the Ronnie Brown / Ricky Williams era. He a good year. A single year. Fiedler should get the top spot. Sure I know he wasn't the best and threw some costly picks, but he was immediately thrown in the fire after Marino. He was decent.

Marino..........

1) Suck
2) Suckier
3) Suckiest
4) Terrible
5) Average

Re-arrange my list any way you like and it is still correct.

I would say Fielder because he knew how to manage the game he won 36 games and lost 23. But I always wondered how for Gus Frerotte would have done with another season, toward the end of 2005 he performed really well. The chemistry with him and Chambers was awesome, then we brought in Culpepper.

With all due respect, Fiedler didn't know how to manage sh*t. He won because he was a gritty competitor who would often bring his team back in the second half of games. The reason we needed to come back in the second half being, of course, his knuckle-headed mistakes. When I think of Fiedler two things come to mind: 1st quarter pick-sixes and 4th quarter comebacks. I loved the guy as you can only love an underdog who will never make it big, but will never give up and will win enough epic battles to keep your hopes up.

Pennington's clearly been the best, he was absolutely great, the trouble is he didn't last nearly long enough.

This is a dark thread, dude.

1. Pennington
Easily, the best though in too brief a time.

2. Brian Griese
Okay, this one is a personal bias. I'll always feel that Wannstedt purposefully sabotaged his time here and ended his career.

3. Ryan Tannehill
It was a decent run under his familiar Sherman offense. Really would like to see more from him outside of it.

4. Jay Fiedler
Was never a big fan of his, but he had some decent moments.

5. Gus Frerotte
He wasn't good, but he had a strong arm and hit on deep passes. Became effective in that awesome Linehan offense.

Brian Griese disgusted me. He had talent but absolutely no character. He's way down the list in my book. He can battle it out with Culpepper for all I care.

I think Cleo Lemon gets a pass for saving us from a 0-16 season...to a 1-15 season :chuckle:

That TD pass to Camarillo is forever etched in my mind. The best thing ever during the worst time ever.

What a depressing thread. So this is the list of every Dolphins QB since Marino, aside from third-stringers who never played in the regular season (for example, Pat Devlin has only played in the preseason, right?).....

Jay Fiedler
Damon Huard
Ray Lucas
Brian Griese
AJ Feeley
Gus Frerotte
Sage Rosenfels
Daunte Culpepper
Joey Harrington
Trent Green
Cleo Lemon
John Beck
Chad Pennington
Chad Henne
Pat White
Tyler Thigpen
Matt Moore
Ryan Tannehill

Did I miss anyone? (other than an honorable mention to Ronnie Brown, as mentioned by a previous poster)
