(Part I) Post Defending Ireland / (Part II) Post Criticizing Ireland (Objective Take)

In my opinion he's way worse than the average fan thinks he is. Our offense is the worst its been in the history of the franchise so how can you explain this chart if its not the talent Ireland has brought in? Is Philbin/Sherman the worst coaches we've ever had? Is Tannehill the worst QB we've ever had? My vote is that Ireland is the worst GM we've ever had and probably one of the worst GMs in league history.

Worst GM we ever had?

So you think Mueller and Spielman were better? I am almost sure there are shula days where GM sucked bad with 1st round busts. Ireland hasnt had one 1st round bust.

Jimmy Johnson drafted Yatil Green and then that puny RB who sucked ass.

Then there was Kareem Abdul Jabbar. one good year. bye bye.

He certainly belongs in that conversation.

sorry, not buying that one. Too many years of mediocrity to be saying that based on not one first round bust.

But Jonathan Martin could be his demise in two ways.

Look at the franchise records we've accumulated under Ireland:
- Last year lowest TD numbers by WRs in franchise history and lowest interceptions by DBs in franchise history. Thats special to be able to do them both in the same season.
- This year we're on pace for most sacks given up in franchise history and fewest rushing yards in franchise history.
- We've had the worst average offense rank in franchise history over the past X years under Ireland. And I put X because that record applies no matter when you choose to believe Ireland took control, in fact the "more" control he got it just gets worse for him.
- I haven't looked this one up but I would bet we've had the worst accumulated record in franchise history over the past 5 seasons too.
- Also would bet we have the worst fan attendance on average in franchise history right now.

So yes, Ireland is definitely in the running for worst GM in franchise history.

Yet with all those first round picks that you're applauding, we're still a mediocre team. Still. A. Mediocre. Team.

Im sorry, but i thought Vontae Davis was a horrible player and a moron to boot. Hes supposedly terrible and we were lucky to get as much as we did for him.

Sounds like the language used when describing busts to me, unless your under the assumption that Davis taken in the first round.

Highly amusing how hitting on first round picks is supposedly the end all of being all when it comes to General Manager-ing. Its a relatively basic part of their job, your suppose to hit on first round picks. Especially in Miami's case, where we've been picking in the top 15 the vast majority of the time Ireland has been our general manager. It simply cant be that difficult identifying 15 good players in an entire draft class. Even when hitting on first round picks, Ireland hasnt gotten as much value as he could. I sure as hell wouldnt turn down Demaryius Thomas, Earl Thomas, JPP, etc, at the moment.

Really? So you think Vontae wasn't a bust as a first-rounder? I sure as hell do. Odrick is playing no better than a run-of-the-mill 3rd or 4th-rounder. He is nothing special and sure not worth a #1. You might as well count Merling as a #1 also, as he was only the 33rd pick. He flat out sucked. Where the hell is Long? He may not have been a bust in the true sense, but we sure as hell didn't get #1 pick value for the guy.

Heck...even Pouncey isn't that great a pick considering where we got him as a freaking center!

Take off the blinders....

Maybe the staff didn't care for Bush so they told Ireland he can walk.
