Patriots, Jets still better than us.

I cannot agree, when I watch the Jets I see a long bad season for their QBs. That OL that they have is going to get them killed and people may get excite because they played well against the Giants but come on the Giants, what exactly do they have? They do not have a rush, P. Paul is not really showing much, and their OL is going to be the worst in the league this year. So if you want to say that the Jets are a great team because they played good against the Giants then good for you. I wish that we played the Giants during the preseason maybe you would say that we are going to the Super Bowl. And I am not picking the Pats over us until I see how we play them in the first game. If we lose but we put up a fight then I am fine but if we get killed then ok we have done nothing. We have to beat them this first game to set the tone for the rest of the season. This is the first season that I am not afraid of the Pats.

Ok, I know of one, but this second guy, who is he and how many games has he won for the Pats so far. Why do people think every QB that the Pats have will just go to other teams and become Brady? I wonder how Cassel has looked since he left, the last time I check he has not been Brady. Look it’s their coaching and scheme, those guys cannot just go to other team and win like they do in NE. Plus who cares, how many times will the second guy get on the field during the season.

Pats have the two top QB's in the AFCE.

Every team in the division has weaknesses and unknowns about them. The Pats have the least, and IMO the Bills have the most. Can't we just end it at that?

 Actually, i kinda do. (along with the rest of the staff)

but, yes ... You are certainly entitled to your opinion. Just like others are entitled to mock your opinion.

The jets blow goats for nickles.

Have a nice night.

Hey!!!!

Y'all are sensitive af. I see I clearly rustled some jimmies.

You misspelled "amused."

By the way, what is this word "still" that you keep using regarding the Jets? They finished with the same record as the Fins last year, and with a worse record the year before.

The Fins are pretty clearly closer to finding their QB than the Jets are, the Jets have serious CB issues, and as far as coaching? Seriously? The coach who admits he doesn't even pay attention when his offense is on the field? I'm okay with him coaching the Jets for the rest of his life.

I reserved the right to change my opinion in the OP saying "barring any unexpected revelation". That unexpected revelation turned out to be that we indeed have some sort of semblance of a power running game with Moreno & the insertion of Shelley Smith at RG. When Pouncey gets back in the mix we'll be even more physical. Haven't seen enough of the first team run d change my opinion on them though.

so your saying the jest will be better but "reserve the right" to change that later when the fins do better so that you can say " hey i said they would, barring unexpected revelation" . Way to sit on the fence and cover your butt from both ends. So if you can even stand by your OP and just say the jets will kick our butts this year what makes you think others will listen to anything you have to say. Say your opinion and stand by it like a man. Dont give us this well just in case B.S.

I bet you weren't amused when the Jets ended our season and Pats took the division last year, buddy.

I can't help but respect that. I'm not blind to the fact. I'm not a homer.

I'm not dumb. I know things aren't black and white. There's always a little "grey area". I knew we have yet to see Moreno in action and that Dallas Thomas was bound to be replaced. Question to me was, will Moreno, Pounceys return, and the replacement RG be able to turn things around. They might.

Fair enough. This is the NFL...unexpected revelations abound. Last year it was "Oh, wow. Houston is awful." This year it could easily be "Oh, wow. Miami's better than we thought they were." or "Oh, wow. Tom Brady got old all of a sudden." or "Oh. Right. The Jets still suck."

I was not amused by that. I was amused by you. This was not a difficult train of thought to follow.

can't agree on the jets until they get a good QB

That QB was good to end 2013 and has had a great camp and preseason. I won't be convinced until the lights come on in September but it's not like any team outside of Miami has a rock solid QB situation.

if I knew we had decent corners I'd be supremely confident right now but the CB situation could doom us.

When I look at the AFC East, I see the teams getting more similar every year. 4 teams with good defenses and 3 teams looking up at the Patriots offense.

The Patriots offense is the opposite of the rest of the division. They are led by a dominant QB behind a dominant OL with a dominant TE. They have mediocre RB's and the worst corps of WR's in the division.

The other 3 teams have subpar OL's and much more talent at the WR and RB positions, but none of them have. Great QB, OL or TE.

The Bills and Jets have a stable of good and explosive RB's. Miami's version is just almost as fast but without as much explosion or wiggle. We have the best WR corps followed by the youthful Bills and hopeful Jets.

So there is a lot of similarity between the teams aside from the QB position.

This is where the teams separate. I believe Tannehill is a top 12 QB. Regardless, the avalanche of analysts and metrics suggest he is far better than Smith/Vick or Manuel. That is the deciding factor that will put the Dolphins in 2nd place behind the Patriots in the AFC East.

If teams can pick up the Jets's blitz packages, there are going to be some toasty CBs in the Meadowlands. And that's a big if for some teams.

You're really going to like Patterson as long as he can stay healthy...IF he can stay healthy. (That's also a big if.)

Re: Smith...he's definitely shown flashes. If Morninwheg can get him productive long-term, more power to him. My question with Geno Smith has always been his accuracy. If he can improve on that consistently, then he's going to cause problems for other teams.
