Patriots, Jets still better than us.

I like the Jets to win Week One and then proceed to lose their next six games to Green Bay, Chicago, Detroit, SD, Denver and NE.

Buffalo is better than the Jets and more of a threat.

New England has looked good, but they always do. Miami can attack the Pats with Gibson and Landry in the slot. The loss of Talib makes NE have no answer vs. Charles Clay. Brandon Browner is out so their is a match up away from Revis. I think the Pats O will be tough to stop because of Miami's LB play. However, Miami can compete and the heat can only help the Fins as the Pats are playing in fall like temps.

At some point, Miami has to elevate their games. The pack is NOT coming to them...they have to go up and catch them. Go get it done.
 
You had me at unexpected revelations........

I think I'll watch tonights game before I panic...you know.... the first one the starters play actually play significant time in...the one that actually gets game planned for.

I think I'll at least give them that benefit of the doubt before I give up on the season.
 
Buffalo got Sammy Watkins, a big time playmaker. That concerns me because he is a rare talent. Jim Kelly would have loved a guy like him back in the day. It's fortunate that they have a weakness at QB. Manuel is the worst QB in the division. We have a great crop of recievers and that should put fear in the AFC, especially if the o-line can keep Ryan upright. Moreno will be a chain mover for us. Landry will be excellent and I think Wallace will thrive under Lasers' offense. LB is a percieved weakness but I think they will step up and get the job done. Tripp and McCain are breathing down their necks for playing time. Let Wheeler go after the QB. That's his strength. Miamis' pass rush will be a nightmare for Brady etc. Decker doesn't scare me without Manning throwing him the ball. CJ2 is on the back nine of his career but could reemerge as a player in NY but I'd rather have Moreno. Buffalos' dline ate us up. Kyle and Mario Williams are excellent players and we better have answers for their physicality. 4 free agents and a rookie will be starting on our oline. We need for this to work or we've got trouble. Things will look better when we get Pouncey back. I'm counting on Laser to have the schemes and the answers that Sherman didn't. Early indications about the new offense and Lazer are exciting. Tanne WILL have his best season and with a couple of things going our way for a change Miami can be scary good. Hickey has done very well so far and is working with Philbin etc. What I'm hoping is that we come out of the gate fast and have a good roll going early. Then suddenly, Pouncey, Jones and Jordon are back as the team heads into the second quarter of the season. If we start out 3-1 we'll have a 10 win season. As for the OP, I simply disagree that we should feel that the Jets and the Bills are better teams than we are. BULL!!!!!, but we have to prove it on the field.
 
Well, Pats put 30 on Carolina pretty easy honestly. Dolphins going against one of the worst defenses in the entire league probably tonight. I really need to see some explosiveness and ability tonight on offense. If its 13-7 going into the half, I am not impressed. I dont want to hear that its just preseason either.
 
So the OP doesnt even know whos starting for the mighty Jets that are so much better then us and he expects us to value his opinion? Good luck with that dude. And mentioning Hill and A rookie TE as big weapons for the jets to make them better then us.... LOL please dude. I much rather have Clay , wallace, hartline, Gibson and landry. Yeah their run game might be decent but teams are going to stack the box and force Geno to beat them. That run game is going to be facing 8-9 man boxes until geno proves he can burn teams consistently. Any way to save this thread so i can poop in this guy when we beat the tough as nails jets this year.
 
While I understand what ur saying blue, I don't think Dallas D is good as pats/jets.. So I'm not sure what we learn tonight. Pats played a very good D for their 3rd game..I think they learn a lot about them self. Jets actually beat the giants the first half. If we show really well, like put up 20 + points on the cowboys our first 3 quarters, I may feel better about our OL.which to me is the largest unanswered question. Running D is 2nd for me. Can we stop someone determine to run. I bet NE put us to the test on that.

It is interesting to note that since Rex Ryan took over the jets. Every Dolphins Pats or BIlls fan and player that I listen to have refocused their hate squarely on the Jets. I think its how Rex Ryan refuses to give credit to other teams and always transfers blame when playing rivals that makes me hate the jets. Also the fact that the Jets players seem encouraged to brag and boast in emulation of their coach (even when they cant back it up). The Jets are basically the annoying loudmouth little brother of the NFL.

No team talks as much and accomplishes so little as the Jets.

Hell, they haven't had a winning season in 3 years yet they still talk like they are some kind of powerhouse, contending team.

It's a direct reflection of their loudmouth HC.

Geno Smith told the world he'll be a top 5 QB this year...and Milliner said he's he best CB in the league. So if Geno's top 5 and this dude is counting on Vick, Dog Man must be 1st ballot level?

Ya it starts with the HC, and trickles down to the rest of 'em.

I will say this though...they looked pretty decent last night...even Geno. He's athletic enough to beat you with his legs too, which is always a tough cover. Geno made some good throws, but he also had a few that should've been defensed or picked.

I DO agree that all our division games will be tough though. The Bills have had some devastating injuries but still solid on D. Patriots are who they are. Jets look improved. I still say we go 4-2 in the division, but the games will be tough.
 
I guess we should just forfeit the games since you said so.
 
wow come into a dolphins fan forum and call everyone homers for not admitting that the Jets are better than us? The jets?? Really? But if you see us play a good preseason game 3 you'll change your tune?? Really? Go set your computer on fire

Unfortunately I think you are wrong, because the bottom line with defenses is preventing points. If they give up yards who cares.

That's not to say our D doesn't have problems and we're less stout than we used to be, but it's a overreach to say we're one dimensional.

wait, did we shoot ourselves in the foot, or did the jets beat us? I'm going to have to go with we beat ourselves.
 
Is this all based on last night? Before this game the Jets 1st team hasn't looked exactly dominant on either side, granted it was in limited in action. The Jets do look improved from last year on offense as does Geno but I wouldn't use the Giants as some great measuring stick. Giants first team has been garbage all preseason and because the Jets starters went into half up 10-7 they automatically are much better than Miami?
 
Dallas is pretty bad against the run, so I agree, this may not be a great test for our offense. I would like to see our first team put up the equivalant of 24 points per game so if they play 3 quarters, we need at least two TD's and a FG.
