Patriots trade logan Mankins to Bucs, possible good news for our dline

Guess they decided they didn't want to pay a 32 year old LG any more.

They will probably sign Incognito now.

which would also be good news for our oline if that happened. I doubt it since they haven't even brought him in but anything is possible.
Mankins is much better than Incognito

If I'm a defender I'd sure as hell would rather take my chances going up against Martin than Incog.

Patriots will receive Bucs' fourth-round pick in 2014 in additon to TE Tim Wright in exchange for G Logan Mankins.

Tampa Bay got him for a fourth and a player.

I'm extremely shocked at this trade. I imagined it would be a 2nd or 3rd, especially with Logan Mankins being one of the top G's in the league right now. Really confused at what the Patriots are doing.

maybe so, but Mankins is a good olineman. Also I think in the long term MArtin may be ok, its all about whats between the ears. Incognito regardless of what anyone thinks of him personally is on the decline as a player.
I wouldn't want either Martin or Incognito on my team because mentally weak people can bring down a team.

Im assuming two things. One they have a guard that is doing well in preseason(have no clue who that is) and Mankins is too expensive for them. The Pats always sell early on their older players which I guess is better than selling late.
I don't get the move but am trying to find out if they are realy impressed with another guy

4th and second year TE Tim Wright.

Bucs fan buddy of mine says Wright young player who had some flashes last year, nothing crazy.

Basically Logan went for a 4th and a development player.

My understanding is that guard was the Patriots weakest position.
