Patriots trade logan Mankins to Bucs, possible good news for our dline

Im assuming two things. One they have a guard that is doing well in preseason(have no clue who that is) and Mankins is too expensive for them. The Pats always sell early on their older players which I guess is better than selling late.

Maybe this is the thought..

New England conversely has extensive depth on its offensive line -- especially at guard, where Dan Connolly and Marcus Cannon figure to be the favorites to start.

On the surface this seems a bad trade but maybe Mankins was a possible cut.
definitely not great value but there has to be more story to it
 
I like the trade for the Patriots, they get a good seam threat TE and a pick for a declining overpaid player.

personally don't like the trade but hard to evaluate Mankins in preseason, maybe they like their other guards and if so maybe a decent trade.
Shows u how much they think of Egnew.

Wright had 600yds receiving and 5 TD. Last year an a crappy offense. If that's developmental player then with Tom Brady he will be all pro. I mean clay only got 756 and 6 tds guess he was a JAG as well..

That's right dude. He's going to be Gronk, Hernandez, John Mackey, and Kellen Winslow all rolled up into one. The PR smear campaign will be out in full force with Mankins even though he's made All Pro the last 4 seasons.
 
In retrospect its a solid trade Wright had a solid year for the Bucs and is a young guy and they get a 4th for a lineman they don't want to pay big money to.
Having Wright and Gronk could be a dangerous duo.

Anyone that denies Mankins has been a great guard is just making stuff up. I think no matter what their line has downgraded. They still have two good tackles and some talent on it but mankins was a top shelf guy

Wrong!!! You forgot to mention Bravaro and Gonzo. Though hopefully not with AHerns trigger finger
 
No team in the league seems to develop their olinemen the way NE does. I could be wrong there are other teams but they consistently build their line from the draft

I'm not deny it. But he was regressing His weakness was pass protection always has been as evident by his allowing 10 plus sacks last season. But neither do I have the foresight nor the coaching inside information to ascertain how this will play out. Just have to see what happens
 
ahh crap so much for tim wright as a cut to us...pats always seem to get out at the right time will see if mankins shows fall off this year...he wasn't dominant in 2013 but he wasn't terrible either...odrick wrecked him when we played them

If Pats fans act like Mankins isn't good it not exclusive, we feel most players that leave the dolphins are crap. Jake Long as a dolphin hall of famer, as a Ram overpaid piece of crap.
