PFF Tannehill analysis (3rd Ranked Passer)

Let's not compare Brees to Tannehill.

In 2003, Brees' sophomore season, his numbers were: 57.6% completions, 11 TDs, 15 INTs, 5.9 Y/A and a 67.5 passer rating. The Chargers went 4-12. Not all Brees fault, obviously.

I mean, LaDanian Tomlinson only rushed for 1,645 yards (5.3 avg) and only caught 100 balls for 725 yards. He only had one 73 yard touchdown run and only one 73 yard screen pass he took for a touchdown. That garbage Chargers OL allowed 29 freaking sacks, too.

Actually, let's compare them. If you're going to say you want Drew Brees level of play out of Ryan Tannehill, then you can't have your cake and eat it too. You want Drew Brees play without Drew Brees' growing pains? **** off. If Ryan Tannehill was as bad in his second year in the NFL as Drew Brees was, the moderators of this board would have expired from exhaustion handing out infractions.

That was a team loss....If ever there was a team loss.

QB....receivers dropping balls......guards.....no pass rush....couldn't cover Watkins....special teams....and the biggest failure...coaching and game plan.

Tannehills first 2 seasons in the nfl are better than brees so the moron who said that clearly doesn't know what the **** he's talking about. I swear people on this site are complete idiots. They just make stuff up. They don't watch other qbs play full games either. They just watch highlights. Hoops is on point, I watched both colts games this year and luck is about the same as Tannehill in the accuracy department.

He is by no means the only one.

Funny enough, I want to Tannehill to play well and progress moving forward (#1 b/c I'm a Dolphins fan), not so I can come back and rub it anyones face, but so I don't have to continue seeing ignorant melodramatic threads and posts.

i think luck's missed more frankly...but he does have those rediculous intangibles and a flare for the dramatic that tannehill has yet to show...and i've never seen a better pocket presence qb fresh out the gate...he is outstanding in the pocket

back to brady he had similar #s to tannehill his first 2 years although he had super bowl cailber team around him (obviously) while tanny had a hot garbage wr core and tight end group his rookie year and one of the worst offensive lines in the history of football in year 2...

now this team seems to have what it needs around tannehill and a great scheme that he needs to take advantage of and step up in...this is that time...he either will take it to another level or he won't...we will find out

Haha the moron who said brees was good early on probably doesn't even know he played for the chargers....

Brees sucked donkey dick when he came into the league. In 2003 he was garbage. Hot garbage. He got benched for Doug Flutie. You saw the numbers I posted, he had a DOMINANT running game and David Boston hadn't imploded on roids yet, so he had talent to work with. He was so bad they went out and got Philip Rivers.

The next year the light suddenly went on and he completed 65% of his passes, threw 27 touchdowns to 7 interceptions and pretty much stunned everyone. I remember watching him that year and thinking "there's no way they let him walk, right? I don't care if they drafted Rivers... you can't let that go."

I was so mad when we traded for Culpepper. So mad. **** Saban.

I don't think Tannehill is ever going to be as good as Drew Bress, but it's completely laughable to stand up here and demand that your QB play like Drew Brees and write him off and say he will never be that good, when the truth is that he has never been as bad as Brees was in 2003. As I said, it's a question of wanting to have your cake and eat it, too. We thought when this kid got drafted he was going to need a year on the bench. Now you want him to suddenly be Peyton Manning in year three? To borrow a phrase, GET REAL.

Let the season play out. That's all I ask.

The game against Denver I saw him make ALOT of bad throws...behind guys, underthrown, overthrows, near interceptions....I swear 2/3 of the people on this board s not watch full games of other qbs playing. It happens in every game every week.

In with ya man...

In Brady's first year starting he made the probowl, won the superbowl, and was superbowl MVP. How is that in any way just being a game manager? Brees was pretty good pretty quick as well.

If you call being pretty good, pretty quickly, being pretty inconsistent for the 1st 5 years of his career.

2001- QBR 94.8
2002- QBR 76.9
2003- QBR 67.5
2004- QBR 104.8
2005- QBR 89.2

*Interesting stat notes:
1. In those 5 1st years, he did not once throw for as many yards as Tannehill threw in his 1st 2 years
2. It took him until his 4th year to reach 20 TDs, while it only took Tannehill 2 year.
3. Yet in his 1st 2 years of him actually starting he had 15 or more INTs.
4. it took him till his 4th year to be better then 60.8 completion%.
5.This year Bree has as many TDs and INTs as Tannehill.... hmm

imagine if tannehill threw that fade i think it was too far inside that the colts wr got bumped off on and the db dropped right in his freaking hands...this place would implode...as poor a placed throw as any...inside against a db with inside leverage...has to be over the outside shoulder and to the boundary or back pylon

but it's andrew luck so no one gives a ****

instead i got to get told by the announcers how he's gods gift to the qb position cause he executes 3 goal line gift wrapped pa tds...meanwhile he's spraying the ball all over the field making his wrs dive for it or too far behind guys etc in the first half

he threw for 3 tds and they lost...so by your own definition if he was your qb you'd give a ****

I mentioned 3 TD and a win, nothing about a loss. I was talking about Peyton.

Luck is NOT having a good year so far.

Looks like colts have to take a qb in round 1 every year till they get it right. Year 3 luck should have gotten it together and have peyton manning numbers.
