Chester was running on the treadmill but didn't practice

islandah said:Yeah, but if he was really "angling for an injury settlement," then you can't really trust that quote. I assumed we would have to replace both he and TimBo at the end of last year. Unfortunately, seems to be the case. DT is a very physically demanding position- a bad knee and certainly a bad disc are pretty hard to come back from in the trenches.

Which way do we go if Chester can't make it back, and even if he does, how long will he be able to play at an effective level???...
Picking up Traylor was nice and all, but we have no real proven starter at DT behind him and Chester. That is unless you conisder Carter / Holliday DT's....
We need to find Chester's replacement before the season starts IMO. Chester hasn't even been that impressive since coming to Miami, and he's rarely ever healthy, or in the shape that he'd like to be in. He talks a good game, but he never shows up...
I think it's time we looked for a younger, hungrier DT to start in 2005. Whoever it is, should be able to contribute as much as Chester has since arriving in Miami. I hve been less than impressed with him thus far...
PHINZ RULE!!!!
He was a starter at Carolina before we signed him. I think he made an impression when he single-handedly shut down our run game the year before when we played Carolina.Pink_Dove said:You can add me to the 'dissatisfied with Chester' club.
Never understood why we brought the man in the first place. He was a spot starter with the Colts and was handed the starting job here.
Chester's deficiencies have been masked by Timbo's presence. I think we'd be better off without him.

Pink_Dove said:Yeah you're right I didn't remember Chester being with Carolina.
55 tackles and 0.5 sacks as a starter in his only year over there. Had a season-high nine tackles at Miami (11/4). It's sad to see we probably judged him on that single performance and his bench-pressing prowess (630 pds deadlift). I still think he's been sub-par with us.
