PFT: martin looking to end dispute, resolution could come soon

If I were Ross I would be tired of the term cut my losses. Thats all this front office has done and look where it has this team now . Its time someone with some nfl football knowledge is called in to turn this around. No way this GM and head coach will ever do that this is apparent ! I really feel for Ross no football knowledge and all that money saaaaaad!

I think it does.

I love the unmasking of the wrestler analogy...good stuff. Made me chuckle.
It was a little awkward, but I've been wanting to drop that on sombody
and this seemed like the right time.

Not really, because the Dolphins organization is contingent on fans' perceptions and purchases to sustain itself, and so the Dolphins' view of those perceptions will in large part drive what they do as an organization, regardless of how "strong" or "weak" they appear.

This is why the "court of public opinion" often results in settlements that have little to do with guilt or innocence. Sometimes making the issue go away is the "win."

Exactly, and the court of public opinion is the game that Martin playing the dolphins and trying to force them to pay his contract or at least some of it. Thats why he went to a reporter, so you will say pay him to leave. Its an all win for him, no win for the phins. Can one man and a agent out muscle an organization, we will see. And yes giving in to Martin is showing how weak the organization is, if they cant win. Already Martin has you right where he planned all along.

He is exactly what this team doesn't need. A big softy that wants to go 51/50 cause he's a puss. Get him out of here and move on

I'm alright with it. Pay him out, get him out, let's get back to playing football.

I agree with Goon, we need the circus to leave town.....

Just warning you, if we do pay him to leave. The media will not leave with him, they will paint it as if the organization is paying because they are guilty and we will forever be painted that in public perception.

I still think Martin is mentally disturbed. You don't try to make a point with a mentally disturbed person. You play nice and convince them to go make life uncomfortable for someone else.

This guy will be a hit in the Gender Studies faculty room at Stanford or another California university. And he can stay close to home, where his folks can keep an eye on him. The Dolphins can get back to playing football. Everybody wins.

twix, the Dolphins can not win with the media. This thing pushed the right political buttons for them. Keith Olbermann and the rest of them will not change their minds no matter what is released. It's just like with national politics: I can think of at least one politician who could get up on live TV and take a dump into someone's mouth (Richie style) and people still wouldn't change their minds about him either way.

I would dig in. I don't want to reward Martin for this farce. He could have handled in a professional, responsible way. He chose not to. It would set an awful precedent for future players angling to get cut and have their money too.

The dumbest statement in this forum since the whole debacle. Many Americans had gotten a lot of Millions for harassment in the workplace with a lot less evidence that the ones we had heard so far against Martin. Are you freaking kidding me? Martin could sue for 20 Millions and there is a great chance he will get every penny of it. If Martin really want to settle this by taking the bonus and the remaining of his rookie contract, I can guarantee you that Ross will settle before Martin open his mouth. Good lord, I can understand fan will always be fan but this dumb?

Even if Martin reaches a settlement which I doubt this seems like posturing, there is no guarantee the NFL closes it's investigation. Did the Freeh Inveatigation get discontinued in Penn State with firings and convictions?

How can you consider yourself a human being by defending a bully whose dirty laundry is coming to light, like the volunteer at last year charity event as your hero Richie was harassing a female by touching her private parts with a golf club. The Dolphins fans have to be the most perverts in all NFL. Not even the Pats are this low when it come to decency. Yes they were some that wanted Hernandez back but there were others that were disgusted by his action.

I've never defended Richie Incognito as a person, or condoned his actions at the golfing event. I want Richie gone from the Miami Dolphins regardless of the outcome of this whole thing -- and I have no doubt that he will be. Please, stick to Gang Green where you may or may not have a better understanding of posts which use fewer polysyllabic words.

Oh, they will continue with the investigation. But at that point, the NFL investigator, whose job it is to protect the NFL from liability, will be sure not to find anything too damning or inflammatory, I can promise you that. At least not for the public.

It'll be another "Roger Goodell burns the tapes" incident.

We shall see, but with the sharks already circling it is going to be real hard to make it go away.
