Pft - Miami Close To A Deal For Josh Rosen (merged)

If the plan is to draft a QB in the 1st round in 2020, then it makes no sense to trade for Josh Rosen now. It would be another Arizona situation all over again. Just let Fitzpatrick be the QB this season and draft your potential franchise QB next year.
Not necessarily. BB always looks for QBs and Florio needs to do the same. Trade for Rosen and let him and the 2020 pick fight it out. If Rosen wins we trade the other and if not Rosen is the back up. Makes perfect sense.

You say “captain obvious”, yet here we all are debating if a franchise (maybe in Miami’s eyes) QB is worth a second rounder

It's a FAN message board.

Why are you here? What do you want to debate? What is worthy of debate on a Miami Dolphins message board, in your enlightened opinion?

Because they are stupid as they hired a fired college coach with a losing record who was lucky to be demoted to USC OC before they came along.. and have drafted an ideal QB to put into his system which so far has failed with other ideal QBs including Mahomes?

But even if Rosen fails, there's low risk high reward and relatively little investment to move on. And there's no guarantee that once the tapes are in, Josh Allen or Sam Darnold will succeed either. Jackson? I wouldn't take him on a bet.

I'm not sold on Josh Allen but I do think Sam Darnold will be good. But he has Gase coaching him now which probably won't help him.

If it was agreed to, why wouldn't it be official? Seems like Miami wants to be on the clock to scope out the situation.

I’d doubt that unless they are holding out on a qb in the class. Which I’m also doubting

More likely canforas talking out his ass again

That's clearly the hope with Flores and O'Shea. But the tape doesn't look good at all. Even when you factor in a bad Arizona team. Heck his UCLA tape doesn't scream trade a 2nd round for me.

IF there wasn't goign to be so much talent still available at Miami's 2nd in this draft then i could kinda understand it. But you're more likely to get an impact player with the 2nd round pick.

The other part that baffles me is when is Rosen going to play with Fitz here? WIthout question Fitz is the opening day starter and if he doesn't get hurt I assume he would be the starter for the season.

So how are you going to truly evaluate Rosen and know what you need to do QB-wise in next year draft?

Fitzpatrick is almost definitely not the game one starter if we land Rosen.

I don't know why people are making a big deal of what we do with Fitz. That's easy. Who cares?

Arizona screwed the pooch here and we should not pay for it. They should have traded him before the Giants and Redskins picked.

EXACTLY! The Cards have no power in this negotiation. Espically if the rumors are true that Rosen is pissed unfollowed the team on twitter and all the other brewing drama. They absolutely cannot bring him back into the building going forward. There is no way Miami should offer anything close to a 2nd round.

So is this like a AJ Feeley 2nd rounder or a Daunte Culpepper type 2nd? Or more like a John Beck 2nd?
I’m just wondering where my disappointment level should be while I halfheartedly watch porn until the second round is done.
John Beck had a MUCH better college career than Rosen.

For the salary we're paying him. I GUARANTEE you that he is and not to mention ROSEN is going to beat him out?

Please!

I'm simply pointing out the insanity of posters and understanding how these things work. Everyone speaks in definites. I am not a professional scout, nor do I state things as fact. Many on here do, and it gets so watered down. I have no clue if Rosen will be successful. One thing I know, is I root for the team, not the player. So I only hope Rosen, should he end up in Miami, is successful before I completely trash the guy. Especially over a mid 2nd round pick or whatever it ends up.

I agree, I just don't feel the need to pretend my opinion matters more than anyone elses.

Exactly. Take the money in a year we can afford to spend it on nothing cap wise and tip your cap as you exit south beach in 12 months. Lol

Well here's the thing, if they do trade for Rosen, and he isn't immediately the presumed starter going in, then they've made a potentially great strategic move and then squandered it immediately.

my whole point is this.....offer them a 4th and maybe settle for a 3rd at the most......if Arizona says no then no problem....use our picks and draft a QB from Tua, Fromm and Hubert.......why should we be so worry about losing out on Rosen?

He's NOT a "top 10" QB. His draft position a year ago doesn't mean !@#4 except to the dumbasses who drafted him.
Hopefully you understood by "top 10" I was referring to where he was drafted. Arizona as a franchise is terrible. Perhaps worse than the team we both root for.
