PFT Power Rankings - Dolphins at #31

Not only are Power Rankings stupid to begin with. They are even worse when they are compiled when a single game hasn't even been played yet.

I ****ing HATE the off season!!!!

he led the jets to 2nd place in the division, bruh. 2nd best qb in the division. makes perfect sense.

lol, after I typed that, I was really thinking to myself, Geno's not even 4th best qb in the division. He's around 6th or 7th.

yet he badly outplayed the supposed 2nd best QB in the division in that QBs biggest game of his life.

When Jets QBs do poorly it's because of the lack of talent around them. When they do well it's because they're great QBs. When Dolphins QBs do poorly it's because they were outplayed. When Dolphins QBs do well it's because of all the great plays the players around them made. Junk logic.

when have I ever said anything like this and you think Geno had more talent around him in week 17 than Ryan did? seriously?

I see things realistically whether it's positive or negative towards my team and your team. sorry it bothers you.

slightly outplayed? hard to crow about a 190 yard, 0 TD performance

good thing we don't just look at boxscores b/c Ryan was horrible and geno was good. he badly outplayed him in the biggest game of Ryan's life.

Even still...it's not like they play head-to-head like some would have you locked into. The QB plays the other team's defense...head-to-head QB matchups are myth.

Geno faced the tougher D on the road in a huge game for his opponent. Ryan faced a decent D, at home, w/ more talent around him in a win and in game. No matter what way you slice it Geno comes out on top.

This doesn't mean geno was better last season b/c he wasn't but I take it as a positive sign that Geno progressed late in the year and Ryan regressed.

listen, I know after watching Mark Sanchez for so long a sub-200 yard, zero TD game can seem "good" but it wasn't

Yep. Ryan dropped the balls he laid in the breadbasket himself too. Horrible. Matthews says hi.

Why is everybody so locked into this QBR type mentality and putting 100% of everything on the QB? Simply isn't true. It is a reflection of the passing offense overall. No inflection considered for circus catches or pathetic drops...WR drops/tips that end up interceptions, etc etc.

I am sorry you have no clue what you are watching and think you need to see great fantasy #s to think a player played well. Did you know Peyton manning threw for almost 300 yards in the Super Bowl! he must have been great!

one dropped pass meant the game? it meant he had to throw 3 INTs? meant he had to underthrow deep balls? meant he could only lead his O to 7 points?

Everything isn't on Ryan but he was awful the last 2 weeks in the 2 biggest games of his career. leading an O to 7 points total in those 2 games isn't good, it may not have been all his fault but he was still terrible.
