PFT: Report: Authorities are looking at Mike Pouncey as more than a witness

I lived with a lawyer for years, a subpoena usually means the witness refused to testify and this will force his hand unless he wants to face a little jail time
 
Pouncey should hire a big time lawyer and get ahead of this. Hernandez will go down for obstruction of justice for smashing his phone and camera system.
 
Of course they are.

I told you guys months ago we shouldve gotten rid of this tool. I wouldnt be shocked if he were involved in that shooting back in Florida that Hernandez is suspected of as well.

Pouncey is trouble. This team is becoming a complete disaster.
 
I think people are confused between subpoena and arrest warrant.
 
At the federal level, a grand jury indictment is very bad news. Feds only hunt what they can kill.

State-level indictments are much more hit-or-miss. Conviction rates vary greatly depending on whether the prosecutor is more rigorous or more publicity-hungry.

I think you're way off. They have tons. The timeline is devastating along with the surveillance cameras piecing everything together. This is a simple conviction. Hernandez will never spend another day as a free man. As in sports, people tend to overreact to the most recent example. Just because Zimmerman got off in a high profile case you can't apply any of it to Hernandez. Years ago I actually had someone bet me that Scott Peterson would get off, solely because the big televised cases prior to that in California had ended in acquittal.

The authorities are not taking anything for granted and are covering every angle. The Boston media has been doing a great job of covering it. That's why I'm shocked the Dolphins and Pouncey weren't aware of the possibility that he might be subpoenaed. Frankly, I hope Pouncey is questioned in regard to the 2007 incident in Gainesville, when Hernandez was a freshman.

As Hayden indicated in a previous post, the focus is on Hernandez. I doubt the authorities, even if it's federal, with push against Pouncey. I wouldn't be surprised if it's gun related. Too many young men and particularly young athletes are gun obsessed and don't understand the significance or the liability. If they have a permit or some type of legal authority they mistakenly think it applies everywhere, and not merely to that weapon in that state. Pouncey easily could have agreed to a gun-related payment or payments, believing it was innocent and not blatantly illegal. If he was dealing guns, even in relatively small scale, that's another matter. The feds will push against him and rightfully so.

I've been given State subpoena before -- and the most innocent of all persons, not even a first hand witness to the crime, lol.

Right in a high profile case the state serves a subpoena to a high profile "witness" at a football stadium where they knew it would be world news. The only ones that have called Pouncey only a witness are some of the media and people on here hoping for the best. Read the latest report they are looking at Pouncey as more then a witness.

If Pouncey is only a witness fine he stays.

If the state gets a indictment he is cut!

If he turns states witness to avoid charges or part of a plea deal he is cut!

Anything less proves Philbin as a liar to what he claims is acceptable.

a subpoena means you have to testify or face punishment. You usually don't subpoena somebody who is being a good witness

You might be confused to. No one knows what the subpoena actually says for all we know the state could be seeking a indictment on Pouncey.

Honestly if there was no way of knowing he was involved in anything when we drafted him Its unfair to criticize Ireland but even more unfair to criticize Philbin in this matter (and I am no longer a Philbin Irleland supporter).
 
are people actually calling for our best OL to be cut? People should be supporting Pouncey, not going after him. Ray Lewis supposedly killed someone, and the Ravens kept him around and he did well. We are at a crossroads this season, we cant just ditch our best OL. Pouncey should man up, ask for an immunity deal and give all the info he is asked and leave.

These incidents appear to be during his NFL career. However what I am referring to is what came out of Philbins own mouth when he cut Chad Johnson.
 
Chances are authorities have some dirt on Pouncey and will basically offer immunity for his testimony against Hernandez.

Dirt against Pouncey is probably not solid enough for a individual prosecution but enough to ruin Pouncey reputation.

If Pouncey was at least half smart he would flip quicker than pancakes and answer all questions asked with his lawyer present.
