PFT: Rumors persist that Carl Peterson will be running the Dolphins

imo, the only reason those Chiefs teams never went to the superbowl is one Marty Schottenheimer, never has a man done so little with so much.

wow. Going for another old hag with an archaic version of football

fml. We need fresh minds who will employ the new offensive and defensive systems

Honestly.. I do not care who runs this football team as long as they draft a legitimate franchise QB THIS YEAR and with our FIRST PICK. Also, I forgot why I hate Peterson so much. He did build a pretty good KC team in their heyday didnt he?

If Peterson lures Khaan and Cowher as GM and coach, I say let him be involved with the organization. Those are big gets.

I agree. If Peterson comes on board, it comes down to who he will bring with him. That will be the key. Parcells brought in guys that weren't qualified for the job. He himself wasn't even qualified for the job he was supposed to do.

CPeterson is not destined to be the NEXT GM - he is already the GM he has been in Ross' ear for some time now and when we failed land Harbaugh he has maintained control of the pocket books as Ireland did not get to bring Orton in for a fourth rd pick (money aside) first indication that Ross/CP wanted a FO QB early was that Mallett was passed on in the third

Clear indictations arre that Ireland/Sparano were both constrained to land Palmer, Orton, and that Ireland is saving face for his next opportunity. They failed to hitch their collectiv wagns to a new QB which may have provided a year of grace. Now they have Moore

Perfect opportunity for CP to take the reigns completely and hire Cowher

He never secured the quarterback position for one. He kept trading for retread quarterbacks or veterans on their last legs(Joe Montana). Sound familiar?

And those last few years do define Peterson in alot of ways. He refused to resign Jared Allen but went out of his way to get Larry Johnson to end his lockout. That decision was based on each's character, as Allen had drank his first few years in the league(but then received treatment and hasn't had a sip since) and Johnson was doing admirable things like waving guns around and repeatedly attacking women.

Its amazing. People constantly bash Parcells for his previous successes and outdated philosophy, but want Peterson for his previous successes(which were not as much as Parcells) and outdated philosophy. Peterson had some good years, but in recent history his teams tanked. Badly. His hand picked franchise quarterback failed. The coach he wanted badly enough to trade for ended up being a disaster. And while his last drafts did produce some good players, they only played up to par with a new regime. Derrick Johnson and Tamba Hali only had success when they switched from a 4-3(which Peterson liked) to a 3-4.

If we end up with a draft pick that is not the first overall pick, but still a top 5 or 10, do not be surprised if Peterson passes on a Barkley or Jones. He has a history of it.

talkin about who peterson drafted when he was in kc is great and all and there's some nice names on that list but outside of last year when the world aligned just right for the chiefs in the regular season i don't recall them ever being even remotely competitive with those same players...you could look at their season last year like ours in 08...a flash in the pan...and this year well kc stinks again

and is peterson the architect of the horrid matt cassell trade and long term big money extension??? hell...cassels holding that team back...thats like giving kevin kolb all that loot in zona and still not getting the right guy

All I need to know is that Peterson actually traded a mid level draft pick for Herm Edwards at a time when the jest would have paid KC to take him and his contract off their hands.

yeah...and herm edwards was garbage...and still is...if he ever gets a nfl gig again
