No, Scott Pioli drafted Cassell, just as he also drafted Tyson Jackson with the 4th overall pick in 2009.

Peterson did trade for Trent Green, who was a two time Pro Bowl and very solid QB for KC in Dick Vermiel's offense. I'm not exactly sure how Peterson's philosophy is archaic and outdated given that he did hire a head coach in Dick Vermiel that runs the Coryell offense.

i'm not sure i'm gonna sit here and say peterson outdated...but i do think its valid to say its been a while since he's done anything i can really say became a lasting success...the picks he made in kc recently given the teams results don't justify it...not right now at least

Peterson's Chiefs consisted of a power running game (Priest Holmes/Larry Johnson) combined with a vertical passing game (Trent Green). It works in a contemporary NFL, unlike this Stonehenge offensive philosophy built under Sparano and Parcells.
 
peterson, cowher, parcells and his muse, jeff ireland, ALL are old school 3yds and a cloud of crap deciples.

the same old hold the oponents to 10 points and win by 13 mentality we have had here for the last 10 years
or more.

again, sports and politics almost mirror each other. folks scream about change and something new and fresh but then when its presented, they fall right back into their old comfort blankets of failure.

ross is now falling victim to one of the WORST things an owner can do, HIRE HIS CLOSE PALS and get brainwashed into overlooking the past failures. we have been burned bad with this crony stuff for years going back to shulas last ten with his REFUSAL to fire TOM OLIVADOTTI, his close friend and fellow staunch catholic who ALWAYS attended morning mass together.
after YEARS of laughing stock, consistant bottom of the nfl defenses, he rode olividotti right out of the nfl and the beloved franchise he built.

jimmy handing the reigns to wanny, parcells handing the reigns to his personal chump, tony sporano.

you dont make the hard decisions you have to make sometimes with your close friends as employees. ross needs to hire someone he has NO emotional ties with, a respected, productive drafter who has a stellar rep in the nfl.

that gm needs to hire a coach who is IN TOUCH with todays nfl and players who he has NO emotional ties to.

if peterson comes aboard, its wanny ball all over again and YEARS of peterson taking up space in dolphins offices with built in excuses by ross every year why peterson needs to stay.

hopefully all this is just media hype, stiring the pot for readers.

I DO NOT WANT CARL PETERSON IN CHARGE OF ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!! WE ARE SCREWED.

He will raise ticket prices like he did EVERY SINGLE YEAR (except 2) for 20 years in Kansas City, and he's just as bad as Ireland in the personality department.

He disrespected a John Tait, a guy he drafted, during rookie contract negotiations. Tait was a devout Mormon and Peterson basically told him to "SHUT THE F UP AND SIT THE F DOWN" in a meeting, and kept throwing F bombs at Tait. Tait and his agents stood up, and basically said, I will forego this year and re-enter the draft next season. Peterson was forced to go beg and plead for forgiveness to Tait.......

this is horrible. he isn't even that well of a draft guy. he has a ton of busts. AND he is even worse than Parcells because Peterson -will- bring in questionable talent that have drug or criminal problems.


Thankfully, this article is just a rumor.

bonus points for reminding everyone of shula and......he who must not be named. that sack of crap kept the dolphins with almost 10 years of terrible defense through our "marino" years........
