Philbin: Coach of the Year?

Coach of the year should be able to beat the bills at home with 2 weeks to get reay for them and should be able to beat Tampa with 11 days to get ready. Both times the team came out flat. Yes he's done a good job of keeping theteam together but overall there's no way he's been the best coach this year

Considering that I don't think we have a shot in hell of finishing 10-6, then yes. He'd definitely deserve it.

Because there ain't no way these bums are finishing 10-6.
 
I'm indifferent to Philbin as a head coach, but I certainly agree that he should be in the mix for Coach of the Year if the team goes 10-6, especially because I don't think this team beats NE or Pitt and could easily drop one of the other two as well. But if this team ends up winning the last five games of the season, then I'd certainly say that Phibin did a good to great job finishing out the season.
 
Not sure when they stop the voting but if he can get this team in the playoffs and make some noise and the chiefs and panthers look bad in the playoffs he has a chance...if not my money would be on Reid or Belicheat.....Belicheat for getting through the first 6 games with a bunch of rookies and he was putting a defensive player on IR each week and still had his boys playing good ball...in his 3 loses two were the direct result of a call and no call by the refs, with no time on the clock the other was a butt kicking by Bengals.....I'm impressed and sad by the job he did to start the season, one TE in jail the other Injured, let Welker go and his replacement can't stay on the field, let woodhead walk his replacement can't hang onto the ball.....he basically went 5-1 with a patched up D and Brady with no skill players.....best coaching job i seen in a long time.....he wont't get it because he is a recovering cheater.....
 
Chip Kelly if the Eagles make the playoffs.

Much as i can't stand him as a human being, he would deserve the honor.
 
I don't think he'll be considered, because it would be too controversial, since he presided over the horror of a very large man being "bullied" by one or more other very large men.

The injuries are nothing unsual.

I am skeptical that they are capable of going 10-6, calling them bums with no chance is an extreme statement.
 
Herm Edwards isn't exactly the brightest crayon in the box. Philbin coach of the year?? Ya maybe if he didn't fins special ways to lose winnable games. Maybe he was nominated for calling time outs for Carolina so they wouldn't kick a fg and go in to OT!!
 
Why are we even pretending the Fins can go 10-6???
When was the last time we beat New England?? Our 17-23 points isn't enough against good offenses..Lets just Hope we can get to 9-7, we win on Sunday and I believe we will
 
IF (and that's a BIG if) we make the playoffs, he can enter the dicussion. Only the playoffs can get him into the discussion.
 
No. Just no. We've lost too many games that we should have won. (Bills , Bucs, Panthers and Ravens). Believe me, I'm rooting for Philbin and I like the guy but he isn't the Coach of the Year.
 
I think they can win out, the Defense is playing better and the offense is playing better.

EVEN if they win out and are graced by the gods of the pigskin and somehow manage to win a wildcard playoff game,

Philbin STILL does not deserve COY. Reid, Arians and Rivera have done better jobs.

Good coaches ALWAYS win after a BYE. Look at Any Reids record after a bye, good coachs almost always find ways to win home games and win against losing teams.
