Philbin Not At Fault On O?

This is the first time I'm hearing that and I think it highly unlikely that an offensive-minded head coach would cede total control of his offense to his brand new, never been one before, coordinator, especially when the HC knows his job is likely on the line. Besides, we know Philbin made the decision not to go for any points at the end of the first half against Buffalo, and that throws your assertion out the window.

Not my assertion, it was reported before and after Lazor signed. He was advised by other coaches not to sign without complete control, went with that, and got it.

The facts that we know don't support this. As I've already said, Philbin made the decision to not go for points when the Fins were down 9-0 at the end of the 1st half during the Buffalo game. We know it was Philbin because Tannehill said it was Philbin's decision.

By contract, he cannot. However, that has to be a very strange deal. Philbin is Lazor's boss, and I'm sure they work together somewhat in game planning. Does Lazor bring up the contract on disagreements or, let it go? Maybe something else to look forward to in the continuing saga of "As The Dolphins Turn."

NO, NO, NO. That is not what I am saying. LAST winter, he could have said he is taking the reigns of play calling.

I don't know what happened there but, it was a few plays to end the half, compared to 228 plays for the year.

I will say this...Tannehill must've been pretty pissed with Joe this week to actually call him out the way he did...Tannehill has never done that before. He didn't say anything bad about Joe or anything but for him to actually come out and say what he did instead of just downplaying it and saying nothing like he normally would shows me Tannehill was very unhappy with the way joe handled it.

Really the thing that gets me is...what the **** does Joe do? He certainly doesn't get the team prepared well enough....he doesn't game plan well, he doesn't manage the game or using timeouts well...does he literally just walk around telling people to tie their shoes and pick up wrappers...

It tells me that no such clause exists in Lazor's contract that gives him "complete" control. It wouldn't be the first time the media got something wrong.

Well, you are wrong. It was not just media speculation, it was a part of contract negotiations.

How did Lazor get complete control of the offense?

Obviously, there are way too many gum wrappers littering the practice bubble.

Seriously, there is no way someone w/ OCD (i.e. Joe) relinquishes total control of anything

If I am Joe and I am going to get canned, why didn't he take control of the play calling? Oh yeah, he never called plays in GB.

That is because McCarthy has control issues?

So, its Dawn's fault?

Actually, if anyone has read the Jason LaCanfora artilce, its Aponte's fault we have a bad offense. :chuckle:

I haven't clicked on a LaCrapforu article in ages, but I almost gave in here because the title looked so damn ridiculous. Glad I didn't cave in.

I don't remember hearing this. What I remember is an Eagles source said Lazor was advised to not take the job without complete control. Which says nothing of negotiations or what he was granted.
