Philbin won't commit to starting Tannehill against oakland in press conference.

Philbin and Lazor just confirmed if Tannehill can name every team in the AFC East before the start of the Raiders game he will Start! Yes!!

I like Matt Moore. But, honestly, while I don't think RT is great, I think he gives this team the best chance to win both now and in the long term.

This just reeks to me of a desperation move from a coach who recognizes he is out of his depth and hoping for anything to work. I think this probably will turn out worse rather than better, both for the team and for RT.

I said in another thread that I didn't see any benefit to changing coaches during the season. This is making me rethink that. If this is the kind of stuff we can expect to see from Philbin the rest of the year, then I'd say make a change during the bye week. He seems completely overwhelmed by this job.

The QB play has been under whelming.

Philbin shouldn't commit to RT17, after how badly the team played this past weekend. But I doubt he'll start Moore. If anything RT17 will be on a short leash in the Raiders game.

Just confirmed on nfl network that starting QB is up in the air. They hope to decide before they leave for London. Not a motivational ploy. Motivational ploy was last week.

I said it last year and a lot of you guys tried to run me out of town.

Tannehills last year would be in 2014....NAILED IT.

We are finally at a point where I would say over half of this board finally acknowledges Tannehill is not the one.

I just wish Dolphins management saw that before going into this year with him again. No we have to start over a year later then we should have.

Haha, another I know more than everyone else post

This is totally a repeat of 2010 when Sparano benched Henne in hopes of saving his ass only to have Pennington injure himself permanently after 2 snaps...

I have a feeling a move to Moore will end up in a similar disappointing fashion. These kinds of moves hardly ever end up successful.

Whoever starts against Oakland will not matter. I don't believe we win. Blood is in the water, the rest of our opponents see who we are.

Taking a bust QB in the first round hardly ever ends up successful. Period.

No argument here, but I don't see how that relates at all with what I wrote. One has nothing to do with the other...

No way I make a change yet. Moore is a good back up, but isn't going to get us anywhere that Tannehill will not. Tannehill either needs to improve or we look to the draft next year. This year we are all in with RT.

I have been a big RT supporter....but there is no excuse for his play these last two weeks. I like the fact that Philbin is putting some doubt in his mind about starting.

Its interesting they say this isn't a motivational ploy, that the motivational ploy came last week. They must be talking about the 2 minute drill at the end of the half. So that's 6 more quarters of poor play since the "ploy." If they're looking at the numbers and making the decision off that Moore will start. Moore played much better in the preseason games. And in 2011 Moore posted a rating of 87.1, which was good for the 12th best QB at the time. Moore could easily catch fire in the offense winning 8 or 9 games.

I look at Lazor as the leader of this team. He is honest, but has his players back at the same time. He will take the criticism to deflect blame.

Joe is soft.

He sounds better and more honest than Joe.

I told myself I wouldn't listen to the radio today... after all this stuff broke I tuned in and heard Beasley talking about what went on at the press conference. This sounds like a real scenario, not just some psychological game with Tannehill. The answers coming out of the press conference today surprised everyone in how honest they seemed, not the usual coach speak, "best for the team" mantra. Philbin was given multiple chances to clear the air and back Tannehill and he simply would not. It's telling.
