Phillip Wheeler has to go.

Yeah he is fuking hot garbage. And ireland is even worse for getting rid of dansby. I never liked that he did that in the first place. Dansby and ellerby would have been much more dependable. I can't believe how ireland picked him up. I did not know we were looking at him when we could've paid him a fraction of what we actually paid him. I would sho. I'm so damn mad ot ireland in his face if I seen him. I'm so damn mad at this loss

Wheeler is bad. He is fast - that's it. He's small and it shows when ball carriers are dragging him forward. He can't cover. And worst of all, he's a mental midget. His horrendous late hit on Cam Newton pretty much cost us that game and his ridiculous face mask penalty today didn't help us late in a game - would have gotten the ball back in good position. What's his cap number next year?

Was skeptical of his signing from day one, but wanted to see it thru. He's terrible. Nothing more than a blitz specialist. Not a 3 down player. Not even close.

Wheeler counts $6.4 million against our salary cap if he is on the roster; $10.6 million if he's not. Unfortunately, that means he'll be on the roster next season, but either Jelani Jenkins pushes him for the starting job in the offseason or we draft another outside linebacker who will. But in 2015 he is gone.

shoulda kept Michael Clay on roster.. plays with range, high motor, and nasty; wanna see that kid brought back this offseason

Damnit. That means we have to look at this bum for another season. FML.

Yea I mentioned something similar in the chatroom. Like it or not, he's probably here for atleast another season. It's not until 2015 to where he only counts as 4.2 million in dead cap space . . . 200,000 less than what it would cost to keep him on the team. 2016 seems like the first real cuttable year. His salary is 6.4 million and we only have 2.8 in dead space if we cut him saving 3.6 million.

He pulled a Cam Newton hit against Tampa Bay too on third down that they didnt convert

Agreed. The guy literally runs to the blockers instead of trying to shed them to make tackles. And he makes mental mistakes all game. Aside of criticizing Ireland on this one, how about ask this question: Why is he still starting?

Don't forget about Jordan for the spot. With Vernon and Shelby playing well he could easily replace Wheeler as starter at OLB. He is fast and athletic like Wheeler, but he has much better football instincts and height to cover receiving tight ends.

Wheeler is terrible. Absolutely terrible. Id like to know how much it costs us to cut him this offseason. We could find guys off the street to play better than Wheeler.

Agree with this, every game I get more and more pissed at this guy. I wonder if they can figure out a way to get rid of his ass without screwing us capwise, if so they have to do it

Holy cow we paid big time for his guy. What a colossal waste of cap space.

The end zone replay of Buffalo's touchdown run capsulized our two new linebackers very well. Ellerbe was frozen in his tracks and Wheeler took a poor angle. Multiply by every game this season and that's why our rush defense is more vulnerable than it should be. The inside runs that should be encountered after 2 or 3 yards gain 5 or 6.

Today I thought we were fortunate a few times when Buffalo screwed around instead of hammering us, notably when they drove to our 40 leading 10-0 past midway second quarter. That possession ended on Lewis' interception on second down.

I don't see it. The defense was the only thing good for the Dolphins.

The defense wasn't bad, you might need glasses. Did you see the ZERO on the scoreboard. Go back to football school.

The defense sucked too..they couldnt stop a crappy qb.You need the glasses.
