The thing is, we don't know if the DC was ASKING them to play in bad schemes.

We don't know if the corners were ASKED to give those big cushions all game to the WRs.

I think Wheeler has cost us a couple of times this year with the horrible penalties, and bad tackling,

bot BOTH Solia and Starks have not played ANYWHERE near the level that they played at last year.

This might be the dumbest signing ever by Ireland.

We couldve had Wheeler last offseason at almost a minimum contract but, we didnt want him then. He has a good "statistical" year with the Raiders, because someone had to make tackles for them" and then we decide to give him a huge contract. What a joke.

Wheeler is terrible. Absolutely terrible. Id like to know how much it costs us to cut him this offseason. We could find guys off the street to play better than Wheeler.

Wherever he goes he should take the rest of the lb's with him.None of them can tackle anyway. And the D-line got manhandle yesterday all game long.

57 freaking sacks...couldn't run many 3 step drops stuff cause the collapse was in a nanosecond...hell tannehill got hit on 3 step ball out stuff repeatedly....tried to adjust to 2 tight end sets coming out of the half but couldn't run the ball for even a yard the d never collapsed on the edge vs the read op cause the interior played it so damn well they didnt have to...went back to more shotgun to give the qb some space didnt matter...train wreck pockets all game long...

stunts where the bills rushers were holding our protectors not allowing them to switch on the fly not once called...

You know its blatant when even the announcers comment on this happening.

Well...I might not know much about much, but I know two things:

1) The Wheeler penalty made me so angry that I turned and punched a hole in my wall. That is only the second time in my life I've done that.

2) "Go back to football school" might be the worst attempt at an insult I've ever seen.

Jones was godawful yesterday again. His move to the deep safety spot hasn't worked at all. He's late arriving to everything because he lacks instinct and takes poor angles.

When I save the games and watch the replays, invariably Reshad Jones looks even worse than during real time. He camouflages his poor play by wandering around and not arriving in time, even though it should be a routine play.

Wheeler is active enough that I could see him improving next season. With Ellerbe, I think we're stuck. How can he improve when he freezes at the outset of every play? I had my doubts about that signing based on watching the Ravens last year and Ellerbe seldom stood out. Even when he made a play it was more or less handed to him, like the clinching interception in the playoff win at New England.

Misi seems confident and physical enough to handle Ellerbe's role.

Exactly! Wheeler hasn't been good but Ellerbe has been worse. Ellerbe is suppose to diagnose the play quickly, take on blockers and allow Wheeler to flow and get to the ball. Problem is Ellerbe is so slow to diagnose and get to where he needs to be, blockers are getting to Wheeler and he isn't able to do what this defense asks him to do and that is blitz and get to the ball carrier. Wheeler is terrible at getting off of blocks but if Ellerbe did his job Wheeler wouldn't need to as much. Problem is Ellerbe is like a deer in headlights once the ball is snapped. Reshad Jones is just as much at fault. Both are just awful at reading a play and reacting. Those two have been much worse than Wheeler. I'm not trying to make it sound as if I'm defending Wheeler because he hasn't been very good but Ellerbe and Jones have been worse yet Wheeler seems to get more blame. As Awsi said at least Wheeler is active and he throws is body around. I think he'd look a lot better if Miami had a mlb that did his job

Wheeler is like former Dolphins Sean Smith playing linebacker. Wheeler is soft, can't hit or tackle worth a damn and gets bulldozed to the ground over and over in the running game. It's so damn disgusting watching him.

exactly. the signing bonus/guaranteed money is prorated. if you cut him it gets accelerated and all counts against the cap that season. thats why he counts more off the team than on. better get your 52 jerseys cuz phiilip wheeler will be playing for the miami dolphins in 2014.
