I was concerned about the OL, as were many, but, am feeling much better today. Smith is not great but, he is a fit to what we are doing and can run block. I believe he will be a very solid starter this year.

Now, we move on still needing an OG and a RT. At OG, we could go for a Wharthon for a year or another vet yet to be released or, maybe we think Brenner and Dallas can compete. It's a whole lot easier than needing two.

At RT, we may still do something with a Streif, a Penn, a Clabo or another vet, while adding a 2nd rounder in the draft.

The other option, which I'm beating to death, is Deitrich-Smith at C, and moving Pouncey. This would be perfect for me as EDS is as good or better than Pouncey n the run, and not far behind in pass protect.

Either way, there are viable options for our OL t be good this year, and that's all we, AND TANNEHILL care about.

Another option would be signing Wendell away from the pats, moving, Pouncey, & drafting Z Martin if he is still on the board.

Didn't Deitrich-Smith sign with Tampa Bay?

Very very likely our 1st pick is an O-lineman...Our line is still way incomplete.

I think we wait until after round 4 for the oline at this point. We have LT, LG, C covered with new players. We can draft guards in rounds 4-6 and sign another RT in FA.
I think we go defense(Linebackers) or TE in round 1 and 3. Running back in round 2.
Just my .02

Yes, they should be there as well, and who knows which vets will be late cuts on the OL after the draft, with many OT's about to be taken. My concerns are now less with adding a boy named Shelly. lol

I'm not sure Miami can afford to ignore the Offensive Line in round #1, in-spite of the F/A signings of Albert and Smith. While I'm hopeful Miami will at least consider a CB or Safety at #19, I'd be extremely happy, if Zach Martin or Xavier Su'a-Filo are the pick in round #1. I think Miami is sitting in a descent spot and someone will fall to them.

For a "SHOCKER" howzabout making Mack a big offer to see if Cleveland matches in a week. They gave him a transition tag but, it is one where they can match any offer but, will get no picks if they do not.

I'm with ya in now hoping for a S in Pryor or Dix, and believe we can do that with the depth at RT.

Great idea. But can Miami be enticed or bold enough to try something like that. With Mack at Center, Pouncey at LG and Smith at RG, the run game could be devastating. It would solidify Miami's Offensive Line for the next 4-5 years!!!

That would take some serious cajolies from Hickey...I like it. Not sure Dawn Aponte would agree though. They probably have a budget for the oline.
Sign Alex Mack and move Pouncey to RG.

Pouncey is our most consistent OL, moving him isn't a good idea. Plus, hes a pro bowl Center.

I'd like to see us sign Wharton at guard. Despite his age he graded out very well last year, and has been a pretty durable player. I know he played tackle earlier in his career, so I imagine he could give us some versatility in a pinch too. Has he visited anybody yet, or is he considered likely to re-sign with the Panthers?
