Phins OL Looking Better Today, and With Options

I think first round pick if it were to happen tomorrow could be: OT or CB or S or MLB

One of those 4. If Mosely falls he will be the pick. I think Hickey takes BPA from one of those 4 positions.

Don't see OT as we have Albert. Would add TE in it's place, and make RT the 2nd rounder.

And changing my opinion is what it will do for you. Is this one of those "i told ya so" deals? JK/lol

It's not a told ya so...but it's FA and it's worth being patient. If it takes one day to flip opinion it doesn't hurt to wait it out before getting on the ledge. I just hate the sky falling crap from this board in general, the offseason's a lot longer than 4 days haha.

I think we need to go for some more athleticism on offense at either TE or RB in round 1. Need more playmakers. Especially after the pats moves on revis and browner.

I do not speak for what you think of the board, only myself, and I believe I have been realistic and fair in my assessment of FA. The OL was a HUGE concern, and IF we did not sign Smith, I saw a big problem on who was left.

I "may" have been impatient but, the options were dwindling very fast, a bit like the draft when there is a run on a position, and you get one or get locked out talent wise.

I am very happy with Albert and the veteran Shelley. I wanna see some more veteran OL man and then mix in with some youth later in the draft unless its Zach Martin. But I am more interested in veterans because we are likely to have so many new bodies. And it takes time for a OL to learn how to play with each other.

Shelley is only 26 years old and has never started a full season. Dennis Hickey said hes talented and only going to get better but hes far from a veteran.

Itll be taylor lewan or zach martin in the first. Id almost bet a paycheck on it. Then a guard in the 3rd or 4th as well. 2Nd rd... rb or te or cb. Book it

Hickey has stated that he believes in a BPA approach to the draft. Almost every GM mentions BPA, but most of them use needs as part of the equation. The moves made by Hickey during the first week make me wonder if he is serious. He seems to be seeking value in FA that allows him to field a team from FA alone. He seems to be following a budget that allows him to meet that goal. If he signs budget RT that is average to slightly above average, then he is positioned to go exclusively with BPA during the draft.

I think we wait until after round 4 for the oline at this point. We have LT, LG, C covered with new players. We can draft guards in rounds 4-6 and sign another RT in FA.
I think we go defense(Linebackers) or TE in round 1 and 3. Running back in round 2.
Just my .02

Think about what you just wrote. Do you really think Miami would pick a playmaker for our offense in round one?

He still considered a veteran, it does not mean he is old. The point is it would be very dangerous trying to implement a whole new line with a bunch of rookies.

I would expect maybe 1 or 2 more vet signing for the OL followed by the draft and maybe a couple more guys signed for training camp competition.

I hope for Mickinne back because he wants to finish his career in Miami but IDK if he wants to finish as a backup to Albert, but i would assume his options are limited. There are still lots of names out at RT and Guard that we can find a guy or two to bring in for stop gap guys or just the chance to show what they have. Not to mention Brenner was an undrafted rookie last year and with some experience could thrive, Dallas Thomas could be a shocker to compete after learning the NFL style game, Garner is a decent backup plan as well.

Can McKinnie play RT?

I have no clue as to what you are talking about. Pouncey is on his rookie deal, Albert costs $4M this year, and Smith is likely around $2.5 M. That's nothing.

I can't help it if you don't have a clue. Albert was guaranteed $25 million and Pouncey is about to become a free agent soon and he will demand a large chunk of guaranteed money. If you go after Alex Mack, you would have to offer him a large sum of guaranteed money and a contract that would most likely have to be ridicules in order for the Browns not to match it seeing that they transition tagged him and they had more salary cap space than Miami at the start of free agency. That would be a lot of money tied up in your offensive line, especially when Miami hasn't had to pay franchise QB money yet, which is exactly what is going to happen if Tannehill becomes the player everyone hopes he will become within the next two years.

As of now we still have a pretty poor o-line. Unless we sign another pretty solid lineman like Straif or maybe 2 decent ones....I still think we go o-line in round 1
