Phins OL Looking Better Today, and With Options

A good undrafted o-lineman would be all sec left tackle Jutin Britt from Missouri, can play both tackle spots and has played guard.

Deepest draft in over 10 years or maybe ever. OL is a strength. GM will find value only if its an upgrade and within cap reason. I think we will sign an OL in FA but may wait till after draft. For sure we will draft an OT
First Round will be BPA for a few positions. I hope 2nd round is a RB too.

If all else fails, there will be cap casualty's at the end of training camp and some good players (OL) will be released. You hope it is settled by then but...

Zach Martin should be the target in round one unless someone like Lewan drops that far, which I can't see happening. But, Martin can plug and play at either RT or RG or LG for that matter. That flexibility makes improving the line much easier and cheaper. Then they can either get the best OT or OG in the middle rounds and/or FA guy that is out there for cheap or that is a late roster cut. If he is gone by our pick which is a possibility, then Mosley would be my second target since the next weakest link just happens to be LB and he is a solid first round talent. They shouldn't pick a second round OL in the first round just because of need. But, if it meets a need AND is a first round talent, I'm all for it. And NO I for once don't want a damn TE. I don't like any of these guys enough for the first round. They are ALL overrated IMO. Dion Sims has as much potential as any of them and we still have Clay. OL, S, CB and LB are way more pressing needs.

Love the way you word it. I haven't read up on Penn, so I can't comment on that, but I have been following Strief and it's quite clear that he wants to stay in New Orleans, the team he's been with his entire career. It has nothing to do with Miami or the organization.
Not saying it has anything to do with Miami. But the fact he is (was) the best RT on the market and the only quality RT left on the market and Miami didn't get him just shows the o-line is still a mess. The quality guards are now gone too. Miami has a center and a left tackle and no quality at the other 3 offensive line positions. Hickey/Philbin dropped the ball on the o-line in this free agency. Even if they draft Zach Martin...still 2 major holes on the o-line. 2014 will be similar to 2013...a bad o-line that will kill the offense

Problem is we will load up on o-linemen and not look at LB, TE, and RB and miss out there. They dropped the ball in free agency. No nice way to spin it.

Really? It's a week into free agency and you are calling it a loss? We have months and the draft to fill two holes on our line, I think we can get it done. Grimes was our biggest pickup last off-season and he wasn't signed until week 4 of free agency. We will sign another lineman and perhaps a linebacker depending on what situations present themselves, and draft at least three lineman and ILB and a RB. Don't be so quick to judge.
