we also have Keith Traylor and Kevin Vickerson at DT
and?
Keith is 36, and its possible he might not make it through the year. Vickerson by all accounts was a long shot to make the roster anyway. He was only a 7th rounder, and has been late to meetings, and stuff like that....
In terms of Wright, I think he COULD be worth a third. I think that it would be the equivalent of a JP Losman, only we wouldn't give up a 1st for him.
He wouldn't be filling an immediate need. He's what, 21 right now? That means that if Saban thinks he's worth it, we could have a 22 year old DT (still younger than most rookies) next year with a year of the system under his belt that can possibly step into the starting lineup.
Even if he's a little out of shape now, TC would put him right into it. He wouldnt have to be pushed into the lineup, and could even just play a little here and there.
He will be drafted Thursday, its just a matter of where. Fans who aren't attending the workout can only by reports that could possibly be biased. For example, Gil Brandt had nothing but glowing things to say about Smith and Rodgers' workouts, but in reality, most other reports said that they were so-so.
Regardless, I hope that we at least take a chance somewhere, because it would be nice to have somebody that's 22 next year that already knows Nick's system.
