Phinz DL : Needs More Pressure!!!

I think our D-line will be fine. As previously mention Plummer is hard to tackle.

I agree with you Blitz becuase all game I was saying damn our Defense has no sacks and JT has no sacks to add to his stats for the season against Denver? Then the final play of the game came and I cheered like a *****

Still we need more pressure.

in respect to the comment on the humidity not being there to help us for away games, it won't be there to hurt us either.

The only thing that concerns me is injuries. We have some great playmakers on our D, but if the bug hits us, that could change in a hurry to a care-taker defense.

I noticed that we were pressuring Dumber Plummer around but he seemed to just outrun JT and Kevin Carter. Pennington's not as quick so hopefully JT and KC can get to him.

Plummer escaped on a couple of occasions. Bledsoe would have been KILLED yesterday.

No problems at all, we got great pressure all day.

Well the great thing is we have great matchups with their OL. Mawae can't throw aside Traylor like he could Zgonina last season. Kendall is going to try and help with Taylor so Holliday will be fine. The key to this game is going to be...

Kevin Carter vs. Adrian Jones

If Carter can atleast cause Jones to need some help our D should be fine. We need to protect Zach from Mawae at the very least and have our now far larger LB core hit Martin hard.

Crowder needs to play disciplined against Curtis Martin who really knows how to avoid tackles well.

If it weren't for Plummer's insane ability to not go down, JT alone would have had 3 sacks. 2 of those plays, Plummer should have gone down... but some how some way he managed to get the pass off.

Time to edit that sig. I just saw Lamar Gordon and almost soiled my self

I did notice many times where there was absolutely no rush. But, on those occasions, there was also no where to throw. Coincidence?

Don't bash me here. Most of you may think I'm crazy for criticizing this defense, but the competition is going to get tougher from here on out, and I think this is a legit concern....

One thing that stood out yesterday, was the lack of a consistant pass rush. Sure, there were tons of "pressures", but no sacks. I'm not going to complain all things considered, but if we're truly going to make some waves this year, we'll need to get more physical up front. The Broncos were worn down, but we wont have the humidity to rely on when we're on the road this year. Especially when NOV / DEC roll around....

I was very impressed with the way we stacked up though. DT K. Traylor is turning out to be a very wise, late off-season addition. He was a major force yesterday in stopping the run, and I think once we made the Broncos offense one demensional, the game was ours.....

Considering how skiddish Pennington looked yesterday when facing the blitz, we'll need to do the same if we expect to beat the Jets on their home turf. They'll be out for blood this Sunday, so I'm not expecting us to just waltz in there and push them around. The Jets are going to be playing this game like their season depends on it. We'll be flying high. Not a good situation for us IMO....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

Keep in mind that Saban's D is a little different than what we have been used to. That's not to say I don't think we need more pressure, we do, but the game plan (sounds funny in describing a Fins game) was to eliminate the cutback lanes of their RBs and force Plummer to throw the ball but with some pressure on him to force mistakes..it worked well...What I predict is that, if we do win, we will all be able to notice how the D was different compared to this week's D...

Plummer just did a great job of scrambling.....

Nothing to see here....move on folks.

Exactly what I was thinking. He did some truly amazing things to get Jason to slip off him. If he was a nonmobile QB, I could understand the complaint, but he's very athletic.

That was garbage time.
That WASNT garbage time! You better bet Denver was desperate to score on that final drive to save any face they could! The Dolphins were not gonna let that happen. That was an amazing play by Jason Taylor. Jason has a knack for making plays when the game is on the line (see the NE game last yr). Ive never seen the dolphins D play with more heart in my life.

Hey man I was at the game and could see the whole field (obviously). So when I didnt see any rush from Miami I was looking like crazy for open receivers and saw the exact same thing you did....."no where to throw".

We stopped the Broncos offense...i think Saban and the defense is running the right calls

Saban is a creative guy. The Jets will get different looks and blitzes than what they will see on film from the Broncos game. Pennington isn't as mobile as Plummer; and that determines how the front 7 plays. With mobile QB's you want to contain them. If you are too aggressive they will scramble for big gains.

They will come after Pennington on Sunday. When they play the Bills and defend Losman, they will probably try to contain him and then try and confuse him with their coverages.
