Yeah I guess that is why Chambers led the league in YPC his rookie season. OOPS!!!

I guess that also why Chambers #'s were always better with Fiedler playing then all the other QB'S . OOPS!!!!

There are 2 things about Fiedler that even a blind man could have seen.

His favorite WR was Oronde Gadsen
When Gadsen left his favorite target became.... drum roll...... CHAMBERS.

I don't agree, I believe both scenarioes have potential. If Feeley improves, we have a starter for years to come, and that would be awesome.

If Gus starts this year, we will draft QB next year, and I would love to see Jacobs or McNeal in a phins uniform. Does anyone actually remember the feeling of having a rookie QB to be excited about? Someone with loads of potential and the chance to start for more than a decade? There is something special about drafting a QB for the future and watch him mature into the leader of the team.

Edit: Whoever starts for us it will be a career backup starting. Feeley wasn't exactly starting in Philly, or here for that matter. He only got the chance because wanny left.

Based on my own infallible criteria ... I'd have to say Frerotte is your leader right now.

well more accurate was definately feeley, the throws of frerotte that weren't WR screens or short routes were mostly off target... the 3rd down situations i think arose from us trying to run early then abandoning it, but at that point feeley was already out and had to deal with the 3rd and longs...

i think neither took a step above anyone yesterday... frerottes accuracy has me very scared, and feeley didn't really get a chance to show anything

For me, last night was all about rhythm. The offense had it when Frerotte was playing. It didn't when Feeley was in there.

We'll see what happens Saturday.

I dont think ANYONE has advocated giving Feeley time like we gave Fiedler time.. This is Feeley's last shot, this season, as far as everyone is concerned.. But to throw him under the bridge in the PRESEASON, especially when he plays well, is a bit ridiculous..

The throw to gilmore had me nervous.. Gilmore made a great adjustment.

If Frerrote lead Chambers then it would have gone incomplete. Frerottes throw= Mistake or luck? Who knows.

While it wasnt a perfect throw gus underthrew that ball intentionally without doubt. He and Duante threw it to moss/occassionally reed or carter the same way in minnesota. Its supposed thrown to the outside shoulder though.

Do you understand what a career back-up means? It means that that player is NOT starting material. Gus has shown that that's what he is, AJ still has a chance to shed that label.

I think it could get quite a bit better, once he has better line play and doesn't have Lamar Gordon as his #1 RB.

I wouldn't be coming after you like this if you hadn't strayed from your original premise: A.J. didn't play badly enough last night to get thrown under the bus like many are admittedly doing this morning.

But when you strayed gradually from that to a devaluing of Gus, I had to respond. Gus has essentially had one shot to prove he could be "the man" and not a backup. That was in Denver.

And his "chance" in Denver was a fallacy because Shannahan is in love with mobile qbs. It fits his offense better so it stands to reason but it doesnt necessarily mean he chose the best 1, just that it was the best qb for his system.

I also agree that Gus can play better then last night; the jags D should be a good test.
