Players seem to be excited by Lazor's new offense

like i said it's either system based like kellys o or it's the teams trust the qbs the most...and they get rewarded with high end play at the position as a result...presnap reads sound decision making with the football etc...

i don't endorse many qbs to run that style offense cause it exposes bad presnap read qbs and guys that make poor decisions with the football...but that's not the kind of qb we have...his decision making and presnap reads are a strength run an offense that maximizes that advantage for you and also helps hide some of your weaknesses ie oline pass pro and run blocking

no brainer for us imo

hoops, I tend to go the opposite direction with Tannehill. I think he has the intelligence to run the system you suggest, but I'd worry that he's putting too much pressure on his analytic processing - at the expense of his instincts. I'd be doing everything in my power to simplify the game for him (in the short term). The biggest issue with Tannehill (in my opinion) is that he's not an instinctual player. He's smart, and he's a great physical talent, but he needs to develop his instincts. I think the coaches would help him to simplify the game (as Seattle and SF have done with Wilson and Kaepernick - and what the Eagles did with Foles). If we are running a hurry up offense (which seems like a good idea, because our D can match that tempo - deep except for S and LB), I'd love to see it look like Philly's. Nick Foles didn't have a lot of difficult decisions to make. As Tannehill develops his instincts, I think you can gradually feed him more responsibilities. But for this kind of offense to work, the running game has to be very good. Kelly, Meyer, and Malzahn do it as well as anyone, and they all feature the run game.

I'm 46 years old... Moreover, I actually, earlier this month, shut off my Satellite TV.
I'm caring less and less about the NFL as it veers further and further away from the game I knew and loved.

You too? I'll be 45 in Sept. For the last few yrs, its been all I can do to "watch" 6 qtrs (1/2 of which is following the phins via Espn game cast) about 6 qtrs worth of the NFL. I Refuse to watch Mnf and listen to chuckie salivate over a every marquee qb like Pavlov's dog and then have Tirico yell some idiotic non sequitur in hopes to seem relevant, smart, whatever. I remember staying up late as a kid to listen to the great Howard Cosell.

I still love college football and am pretty much glued to my chair on Saturday.

I was mentioning to a friend my conundrum last fall. He agreed that the hip hop mind set is growing more noticeable (fine for the nba) and its being marketed like the nba where 1 player is a team.

playoffs again. Moreover, I actually, earlier this month, shut off my Satellite TV.

.

That happened to me with hockey. Used to be a huge fan never missing a game but after a bunch of rules changes to pacify it (to cater to the american fans no less) and league expansions and playoff expansions and longer seasons my favorite team is one series out of the Stanley cup finals and I can't bring myself to watch a second of it. Would rather argue with other Dolphin fans on a forum in the middle of spring...

Could definitely see the same thing happen with the NFL as they try to expand, you start missing a game here or there just because there are too many and its a slippery slope. Stop it with the London games. Stop it with the Thursday games. And do not expand the playoffs.

I've never seen players not be glad to have a new offense or coordinator. Wake me up when its preseason.

When you consider that a yearly subscription to Sunday Ticket costs about as much as a tankful of gas for a large pickup truck...how can anyone cancel a subscription? C'mon man, only one team gets to the promised land. It's not the prize we live for, its the journey. Yes, we have been waiting a long time for our Fins to get to a championship level but so what? Hey, take it from a Leafs fan whose pushing 55, nothing beats Sunday morning when you cheer for the Dolphins. Nothing. And the good news is we finally have a guy in Ryan Tannehill who can make all the throws and is about to get to the elite level...so have a little faith and enjoy the ride. It's about to get a little faster!

I think sunday ticket is still a horrible value. I much prefer nfl rewind so i can watch games all thorugh week.

I actually agree. I wish they would break the Sunday ticket down by division. That way you could just order your team's division.

You should be able to pay just to see your team a flat rate.
Sunday Ticket would have value if u could watch all the weeks games on demand but I personally think its poor value and probably will never have it.
Sunday ticket just another example of pure greed by NFL. I do find alot of value in NFL rewind and watch it throughout week, sadly u cannot get it over seas

i might agree with that more if the execution in the tight red zone and red zone period wasn't so high end by the qb...we had one of the most efficient td percentage red zone offenses in football in 2013...and you have to play quickly and with instincts and make quick decisions that are more than just presnap read oriented in the tight red zone to convert tds at a high level especially when you can't run the ball in short yardage to take pressure off the qb...

look at that last td vs the jets just this last season...tannehill has to feel that free pressure player just right of center ie instincts and he has to throw with anticipation to where wallace will be before he even starts to make his initial fake to the outside before stepping forward a few paces to a perfectly placed despite immediate clean pressure in the qbs face ball for what looks like a wide open easy td...that was not an easy play to make many qbs would have eaten that ball and been sacked and never would have anticipated not only the pressure but the place where to lay that ball before the cut even...

no doubt some of that red zone efficiency is a feather in shermans cap but it's also a reflection of the qb...for a comparison take a look at chad hennes red zone efficiency numbers when he was here...we settled for fgs all over the place

I don't know how you do it. Sunday afternoons are an event for me. I get up early, get all my things done and sit down just before game time for 3 hours of Phins. I wouldn't be able to focus on anything knowing the Dolphins are playing and I can't watch.

I also have rewind in case we have a kick @ss game and I want to go and watch it again. Also, I'm a football fan so I watch the condensed version of other good games that week. In total it cost me $250 for both last year. When I look at the nonsense I spend money on, spending $250 on a whole season of my favorite past time is beyond worth it.

Rewind and Red Zone are more then enough...living in Florida I get a majority of the Dolphin's game televised anyways...
