i havent seen anyone say lamar smith people are saying robert edwards but no lamar smith he would of been a good back up for ricky. Lamar played some hella sweet games for us.

Lamar was greatly underated even by me.After watching some Dolphin Classic games I have found some renewed appreciation for him.

Csonka, Kiick & Warfield thanks to the Memphis Southernmen

Yatil Green.. So happy we picked him, and we got 18 catches and 234 yards out of the guy for the #15 pick.

He did have back to back season ending injuries. ON THE SAME KNEE. i would have to say that would be hard for anyone to come back from.

couldn' think of anybody  , but here's list of people IMO who stayed way too long:

Paul Lankford
William Judson
Tony Martin (i know he left and was actually productive in SD, but was worthless here both times)
Tom Ollivadotti
Tim Ruddy
Jonathan Ogden
Wanny
Our strength and conditioning coach, John Gamble

we could use tim ruddy now...

Terry Kirby and Kieth Byars. These guys would single handedly keep drives alive. And Kirby would often be the entire drive. This was when I started to realize that JJ didn't know anything about offense and was undercutting Marino's resources. When the receivers were covered Marino knew he could count on these guys to always catch the ball and get some yards after the catch. Both players went on to contribute heavily to their new teams. While their replacements were soon out of the league. JJ knew nothing about drafting at the offensive skill positions.

Tim McKyer.

Alot of you guys may to too young, but he changed our defense the one year he played for us.

I'll also say that Dwight Stephenson's career ended much too short.

Tyrone Wheatley. He fumbled a couple of times in training camp and he was cut by Wanny. It turned out he was the best of the camp fodder RBs we had.Not really a star but would have been good depth.

That was JJ's last year, not Wanny. The fumbling didn't have all that much to do with him being cut, either. JJ drafted James Johnson, Cecil and Konrad that year, and Wheatley immediately got upset because he knew he was going to end up as the odd man out no matter what. He had himself an awesome season in Oakland that year, too.

Some players I wish had had a longer stay here:

-Terry Kirby
-Desmond Clark
-Brian Griese
-Nate Jacquet

I also would have loved to see how good a player Cecil could have been for us. He showed a few flashes of some amazing talent in his limited amount of playing time in '99.
