Seeing Charles Clay drop balls left and right last night, I got to thinking about players who played with Tannehill in Miami and how they played after leaving. Could Tannehill be actually elevating players level of play?

Davone Bess
With Tannehill: 13 Games, 61 Receptions, 778 Yards, 12.8 Y/R, 1 TD, 59.8 Yards Per Game, 58.7% Catch %
After Tannehill: 14 Games, 42 Receptions, 362 Yards, 8.6 Y/R, 2 TDs, 25.9 Yards Per Game, 48.8% Catch %, out of the league, and into the loony bin the next year

Pretty much all of these players had a significant decline in play after leaving Miami. Coincidence?

Tannehill sucks, cut him today. Let's roll with with whoever is the best FA out there right now.

To be fair, most of those guys were higher than they should have been. Brian Hartline should have NEVER been a #1 WR on any NFL team.

It was because the unit as a whole was terrible. We had a bunch of below average players playing prominent roles because they were the best pieces of garbage that we had.

so you didn't see Wallace's long TD the other day?

Wallace was better pre Tannehill and we'll see what happens w/ Flacco
Clay was the same w/ and w/o
Hartline basically the same

others that have come here have seen their production dip from other places.

Man, did I ever get hated on here for a couple years for calling out the *talent* of Miami's WRs, including Hartline and Bess -- calling it what it was.

Now I get hated supported RT17, lol.

I was right then. And I'm right now. Same group of fools who saw Hartline and Bess as legit 1s and 2s are the same ones generally who hate on RT. Some people just don't know football. They are #lowenergy and #lowfootballIQ fans.

You'd think they'd learn from past mistakes though. After being proven so wrong so many times, lol.

Its an argument that looks good on paper, taking the stats in a vacuum.

But having seen the games and watched the issues first hand, I can't agree with it. Posters above are right, our receivers were just not good enough to play for other teams, and Tanny wasnt helping them out with his off-target throws.

He has improved, and he looks alot better so far, but its only been one real game in the new system. Let's see where he stands after a few more games.

why did you guys let him go?

Good question.

Alot of fans were down on him for some drops in key situations. Everyone wanted him to be the next Tony Gonzalez, something he was never going to be.

Cool, one play in 3 years. Guess he's a TOP WR again, huh?

And again, I notice the minute War goes offline, junc comes online. Hrrmm :ponder:

So one long touchdown from Flacco to Wallace means Wallace is better with Flacco?

Also, Clay was most definitely better here than in Buffalo.
