Polian is ready to Draft RIGHT NOW...

Who are we going to get if we fire Ireland.................
 
the thing that ALL of the players who shunned us this off season and coaches all said that they felt IRELAND DIDNT HAVE A SOLID PLAN, that the staff didnt seem like a cohesive unit.

way to many people around the leauge are reporting this.

and he wants us to keep waiting for his PROCESS to take place? he has had 4 years as gm with this club with a MASSIVE amount of leeway from parcells and NOTHING has come from it. its not just whats happened THIS off season but its the nail in the coffin from the past 3 seasons of BAD decisions.

and right or wrong, that PROSTITUTE statement he made to dez bryant hasnt gone away with the players. both porter and sapp say many are not signing up with ireland because of that. the players have formed their own little boycott/protest. and it does not matter one bit if you agree with them or if you like sapp or porter. ireland, his "process", his personality, lack of leadership and the prostitute fiasco are REAL and it hurting this team BAD!!

so, will it change next year? no! because players are not coming because of our record, there not coming because of IRELAND!! so if ross doesnt make a move, we have the same scenerio next year with players and staff.

ROSS is a billionaire real estate broker. if all of a sudden sales were down big, people around the industry, agents, bankers, etc.. were found to not be buying through ross because of a certain employee, HE WOULD FIRE THEM!! its business!!

and he needs to take the same approach with his football business.

POLIAN would be an exellent start to clean this mess up. he is BIG TIME RESPECTED around the nfl and imediately takes the cloud off of this team.

ross wont do it though.
 
Ireland has to go after the draft. Period.

Love or hate the job he's done, or even if you're somewhere in-between, he's too much of a lightning rod, too controversial, and too disrespected throughout the league to do his job effectively, IMO.

Fireland usually picks well ahead of Polian. That happens when your team wins, they usually have late picks in each round.
 
It makes a lot of sense to do it. Players and league executives respect Polian, they are willing to talk and work with him.
 
HE needs to sign someone from Dolphins history... Marino, Warfield, etc to run things similar to what Elway is doing. Someone with a football background and history. Forget Polian. We need football people talking to the players.

Also need to change the use of the Parcells evaluation or value system. Now that we have the rookie scale with a lower cost you can take more chances on QBs higher in the draft. colts could have kept Payton and still drafted Luck based on the rookie scale. The old value chart does not work that well cause first round picks no longer cost you an arm and a leg.

GM needs to draft good football players regardless of height and weight. Get creative. The old way no longer works.
 
He'll get this last offseason and hopefully will not get a contract extension next season.
 
As much as I think he sucks and should have been fired last year with Sparano, he's here for the year. No way he gets fired before next offseason, even if he completely blows the draft; which he won't, because he'll stick to drafting safe and avoid trying to make any high risk, high reward picks.

It's funny you should say that; I was immediately thinking the same thing also. That Orton chant was about as much of a low-rent embarrassment as it gets!

Polian's son is a slug; they're a package deal. We've already had enough nepotism. Aside from that, Polian's ship is floating towards dry dock. No thanks.

Then again: the protest was good for something aside from some ego-stoking anticipated TV face time.

I see this is degenerating into another "our fans suck" thread. Let's stay on topic: Bill Polian sucks AND Jeff Ireland sucks. Our fans are just fine and are each entitled to their opinions on the state of the team.

I wouldn't say no way it would happen. A couple years ago the Portland Trailblazers fired their GM hours before the draft but asked him to stay on and draft before he packed his ****. The world can be a crazy place.
 
He hasn't had a good draft since 2003 and "built" a team with 0 depth; he's living off his reputation at this point
