Honestly, cutting to the quick, I don't understand the conundrum. There are plenty of regular and vote threads to articulate even your severest displeasure with Henne. As a matter of fact you could elaborate on it right here over the last 3 pages of the poll thread as many others have articulately done. What it sounds like you're saying is that you are a legitimate fan who wants the Fins to win, but not Henne to succeed if he's under center since you think any short term success is illusionary. That's okay but still unrealistic so it's not a selection. As the QB goes, so goes the team; thus we revert back into the original premise: while you a)may not want Henne to be under center, b) don't think Henne deserves to be under center and/or c) don't think it's in your team's best interest to have him under center, etc., the question still strips down to: "while or if he is under center - are you rooting for him to do well since it means the team most likely also will?"
Because that's a simple premise (which IMO separates the degrees of genuine "fandom"), there is no wiggle room for "well I root for the team first and want them to win, but want Henne to stumble along the way so we can get him the hell out of here cause I hate him" choice. That's unrealistic: when Henne doesn't do well, the probability is that the team will not either.
Have you voted in a political election ever? Is there a place on the ballott where you can express: "Well, I personally don't like the candidate but I'm fully invested in the more important political party core values and beliefs he/she is representing, so that's the only reason I'm casting this vote?" On written state multiple choice drivers test questions regarding the blood alcohol limit for driving drunk, is there an option expressing "well the limit is 0.5% but I think that's too low and unrealistic for most people who drink responsibly?".. "or too high because I hate drunken drivers" ? Hell, even in other polls on FH, there are flat out "yes" and "no" option choices only.
The poll question is rudimentary: "will you root for Henne when he's under center if he's wearing your team colors?" Sorry, when it comes to intent I see no "dichotomy" especially since there is an option #6 available: "no my disdain for the player transcends my hope for the team's success with him starting for them." Even some of his harshest critics have voted that they'd put the team first and root for Henne out of necessity, not any love or respect for him. It's a simple concept, really :idk:
