Pouncey has hip surgery out possibly 3 months

the o line will still be improved over last year. I wouldn't be panicking. Garner or Brenner can handle the spot. better play calling can hide the oline too

I've been thinking we got lucky our Pouncey has been relatively healthy while his identical twin brother is made of glass, guess we not so lucky anymore.

The Dolphins were already a coveted spot for the undrafted linemen before this, any undrafted centers that decided to try out for the worst line in the NFL might have just hit the jackpot.

velasco played pretty well for the steelers last year as i recall...til i think he got hurt and was done for the year...but the steelers don't employ quite the movement of a eagles like scheme either

if i recall correctly there wasn't much of a sample size with velasco though

FWIW, he played 758 snaps, kinda bad on the run, and bad on the pass.

I'm just gonna throw this out there: I think Nate Garner played fine at center last season when he was in for Pouncey.

That said, just because I said that now, it's gonna be a total disaster at that position with Pouncey out.

This sucks. Back in 07 i had that surgery plus microfracture technique. Its done arthroscopically and is much more common than it used to be. Id wager this is not going to be season ending, though three months sounds about right without complications

Now we have five new guys starting on the OL. Has that ever happened before, other than expansion teams?

Expansion teams and Ireland-led teams.

Which should tell anyone still on the fence about Ireland all they need to know.

I keep thinking that we had several swipes at Brian Schwenke in that 2013 draft. Nasty disposition, great size, and can play any inside position. He started at center for the Titans late last season as a rookie. Granted, there are some ankle issues with him.

Normally you end up with a finesse guy when the starting center goes down. I've seen that all my life. The fringe players at that position looking for a contract are typically more soft than ideal. Brenner certainly qualifies, as did the players who Pittsburgh scrambled to sign last year after their Pouncey went down in the opener.

This could be a ploy to attend Hernandez' trial. Pouncey might have lots of hats and shirts to peddle outside.

sounds like a torn labrum...out til after the bye at least...book it...gonna try and run a move athletic eagles like oline scheme with 5 slugs...best move athlete up front if it stays status quo in the starting 5 may be the right guard shelley smith...

and if it's true the rbs wont be asked to pass pro as much means that much more pressure on the oline and tight ends to protect...only problem is the eagles have one of the top 3 olines and top move athlete oline in football...

i feel like my qbs gonna end up missing significant time this year due to injury...when it rains it pours i swear

this front could sure use a move athlete like billy turner somewhere in it...i know that much...2 slug tackles and ehh move guys all over the interior now...and one of em struggles in pass pro to boot coming into the building

i'm sorry but jason peters and lane johnson as move athletes blow away our unit...there's no way we can run the same stuff as the eagles with this group...there is gonna have to be more downhill calls

See how you have absolutely no faith in anything and know whats going to happen, especially since they havent played a damn snap yet.
