Pouncey open to playing Guard

Play the best five guys where ever. The line should be much improved with Mike at guard or center so whatever Benton thinks is best is fine by me.
 
Pouncey said Monday that option is now a possibility and playing guard would be "fine with me."

Pouncey said he split first-team practice reps between center and guard today.

The Dolphins would like to get their five best linemen on the field Sunday against Green Bay and that appears to have them considering a lineup with Samson Satele remaining at center and Pouncey playing right guard, instead of Dallas Thomas or Shelley Smith (who is returning from a knee injury).

Pouncey, who missed the first four games while recovering from June hip surgery, said the Dolphins have not made a decision about his position and said the decision ultimately would come down to his comfort level with the switch, coupled with what coaches believe is "best for the team."

I never understood why Sparano, especially being a a former offensive line coach, moved him to an unnatural position of center. (Although he played there, albeit horribly, at UF his senior year)

I will trust whatever Benton and Lazor decide what they think is best for our current offensive line situation, but I would have to imagine that would mean putting our 5 best guys on the o-line unit which IMO is upgrading the RG position with Pouncey.
 
Its a good idea but is Statle doing enough to keep his center job?
 
If Pouncey starts at RG then I think we should run right, run right and after that run right some more.
 
If they make the move and Samson is just ok draft a center next year. Our guards will be Pouncy and Turner so our running game will be bad azz going forward.
 
Wow seems anyone who mentioned this earlier this year was drug thru the mud and called silly.... Seems those were the silly ones... Even if it doesn't happen, it's not a tin hat idea, and as such is really being discussed in the locker room

I would like Pouncey to play guard for now. Although Dontwant Satale as anything but a one season starter at center. He is not very good and a few decent games doesn't change that. Short term go with it

Which is good because apparently Big Al is killing it as a run blocker. Better then advertised. Left side running should be great

Agreed. I think it would be an excellent coaching move. I see at as comparable to the Seahawks situation when Dan Quinn moved Red Bryant from DT to DE. It's being able to feature a player and use his strengths and flexibility to upgrade the offensive line as a unit instead of just one position.

This is where I stand. If you watch Satele work, its average at best. Pouncey does things at Center that Satele doesn't.

Pouncey feet make him elite.
