I'm a fan of the best 5 approach. Love the idea of having 4 experienced battle tested lineman and one rookie. We'll see what happens.
 
Interesting... Does/will that benefit us the most? Maybe he knows he could be paid more as a guard?

Pretty clear this is Mike Pouncey's season debut week. At guard or center
 
I like Mike Pouncey at Center (now) and Satele at guard. Because Mike is a bit bigger and stronger and even faster and we have plays meant for a pulling center. Satle is supposed to be open to playing guard, he said stay on the team he would play anywhere. It hold not hurt to have him play 20% of the snaps the first game or so Pouncey is back. It is a total win win for us. Our OL is way outplaying last year's years. We are playing so much better then last year that it make makes me wonder about the pluses of a better working relationship. And when you add that to maybe better coaches and then really when comes down to it, we also have better players on our OL now.

Guard has always been talked about as a possibility with him. I guess it comes down to which is the greatest area of need.

Our guard play could sure use an upgrade though.....

Mike Pouncey told me he took snaps at both guard and center today and is not sure which he will play Sunday

That would be freaking awesome! If my logic is correct I think we get more out of

Satele at C and Pouncey at Guard
than
Puncey at C and Satele at Guard

Especially when you think at some point we are going to have to face DL monsters in Bills and NY

He is right he is a natural guard. He was better suited for guard when he was drafted but he did just fine at center.
 
Very interesting. Satele has been pretty mixed at center, but if you notice, we have created a lot more offsides penalties this season than we did last season. If you look at last season's game splits, you'll also find that we created more offsides penalties in the 2 games that Nate Garner played than we did in the games Pouncey played. He does have a dead giveaway when he snaps the ball.

I'm down with this move.
 
Lol....so many people bitched and **** on others for even considering the move to guard. Even Pouncey says he's a more natural guard, which I agree with, think he's a better fit there. We HAVE to get Dallas Thomas off the field. Just try to think outside the box...this isn't some outlandish projection.
