Prediction: Matt Moore will be traded after 2nd Preseason Game

2nd Preseason Game will be a showcase for Matt Moore. As it stands, Garrard is winning the QB competition and Tannehill is looking good. The coaches should have a read on who will be starter after game 1. If its Garrard, he will start preseason game 2, but the bulk of the game will showcase Moore. He will be traded to a team like San Diego who needs a solid backup.

Tannehill is showing enough that having both Moore and Garrard doesn't make sense. Additionally, it seems like Devlin is showing enough to warrant a roster spot.

I think Moore could net at least a 4th, and that would be well worth it.

Yep he is gonna be traded to the Lions for Javid Best, Calvin Johnson and 2 first round picks. Then Ireland will be fired for not getting enough after Matt turns into the next Joe Montana....

like many have said only way we get anything worthy is if a starter on a playoff team goes down and their back up is not good at all.off the top of my head i can only think of two teams that would fit .indy and denver.just about every other team has a good qb and a decent backup.just like us

San Diego is in desperate need of a good backup after Kyle Boller retired a day into camp.

I kinda think DG is gonna get tagged pretty good either in preseason or the first few games of the regular season and be done.

If Tim Tebow is worth a 4th and 6th round pick, Matt Moore, you know, a QB who can actually throw a ball into the hands of a WR instead of only at their feet, should be able to net at least a 4th.

Big difference there. Tebow was brought in by Sporano to run the wildcat and is filling a need. He was not brought in to be a real QB threat and they gave the price of him for his athletisim and knowing circus that is the JETS the Tebowmania...

I'm not getting into the Tenbow stuff in this thread, there is not a chance in the world Miami gets a 4th rd pick for Matt Moore. if Ireland can do that I will be astounded.

I hate to do this, but I have to agree with junc here. Matt Moore is only slightly better than Sanchez, and there is no way in the world anyone would give up a day two draft pick for Sanchez.

Only reason someone would trade for him is if their backup gets hurt....

Matt Moore was the season ending week 17 starter last year, and is the going to be the 2012 week one starter unless something drastic happens. A couple of TC practices is not going to unseat him. Matt Moore plays his best ball during GAMES, and that is what the coaching staff is going to use to decide who starts. DG COULD beat him out, but I highly doubt that is going to happen.

More important is the fact that Moore is younger and could be a great backup to Tannehill, which is something DG can't do for more than a year or so. The ONLY way Moore gets traded is if Devlin lights it up and becomes this great player, to the point that the FO is comfortable using Devlin as the backup, and lets face it THAT isn't going to happen.

PREDICTION: Moore will be on the team preseason game #2, 3 and will start week one regular season as the starter if Tannehill doesn't.
PREDICTION: Moore will be on the dolphin roster week 17 as well, so get over it!!!!

Well, I gotta chime in.

1. San Diego is already looking for a backup. Its true.
2. Moore would be an excellent fit for him there. He has the best deep ball of anyone.
3. Garrard is Philbin's guy. Tannehill is the future. But what about Devlin? He is someone I will hang around in 4th qtr to see.
4. If he looks good in games and practice it makes the Moore decision much easier to make. Devlin could be our future too.
5. Moore is getting as many reps in preseason as Garrard so he is getting showcased regardless.
6. What would be useful for Moore to be sticking around if Garrard is the man with the future waiting for the crowd to start calling for the rookie? Moore is like a #3 in this scenario. Only way Moore stays by week 17 IMO is if he is the starter vs. houston. Not likely IMO. He fumbles too much. Philbin has seen it live and on tape.

Didn't Charlie Whitehurst resign with the Chargers again a few months back to be the backup again?

based on what?? The fact that Ireland brought him in?? RT is the future, that I agree with, but to say DG is Philbin's guy is simply not true. DG is one hit away from being done. I see no way that DG is the guy unless they really think RT is ready to go from week one. You have to see RT as a starter if you keep DG and let Moore go. How many QBs can you name that missed a year due to back trouble then came back the next year at 35 and had a great year?? Back troubles RARELY go away and STAY away. There is VERY little chance that DG starts and finishes the season as more than a backup. Moore will outplay him in the preseason and it will be a mute point. No way if stats are equal that DG has as much value as Moore.

why would you trade your best quarterback? you all dont seriously believe DG is better than moore? and RT is a carbon copy of john beck.... dont believe the hype.

DG is coming off of a major injury and RT is a rookie. Unless we get something crazy for Moore (like a second which we have given up to other teams in the past <btw I don't think other teams will be as stupid as we were>). Moore is more valuable to us to keep around.
