Pretend Ricky never retired..........

My first thought is... if Ricky never retired, Wanny and Jay might still be with us. For that, I thank you Ricky.

I think its a stretch to say Ricky would have saved last season and Wanny and Jay in the process.........but whatever role he played in their exit I truly thank him for.

Heres to a great season Ricky!

No, the most chicken way is to ignore the responses that you think you'll have the most trouble refuting. Namely, mine.

Take the name "Ricky" out of the equation and as people who they'll have more sympathy for: a screw-up or a quitter, and you'll have a rather quick end to your hypothetical debate.

Of course, a few days later, you'd come back with another thread and another innovative way of saying those who think Ricky's return could possibly have some value to the team are losers. Talk about  .

I think I hear the fat lady singing!

Nicely put, Dr.

I'll fill in for Enigmatics here ... His retirement was the lowest form of cop-out. He couldn't stand like a man and face the music for his 4 game suspension.

Actually, I think you're arguing against Enigmatics's point, which was that Ricky would have been just as despised for a suspension as he was for retiring.

And seeing as you're arguing against enigmatics's faulty premise, I agree with you.

i cant believe this thread has gone as long as it has......

WHO GIVES A SH#$@.

he's commin back weather u like it or not, who cares for what reason, hes going to be gone by th end of this season anyways, so u guys need to calm down.

Since the whole thing started I've always been a "Ricky Hater" but I have never tried to get the "Ricky Lovers" to be Ricky haters. They have their reasons for forgiving Ricky and welcoming him back with open arms and I have my reasons for wishing he would just go away forever. Just as most people probably don't understand why I don't want him back, I can't understand why most people do want him back! I'm not sure what the purpose of this thread is though. Was it to change Ricky lovers into haters? Because I doubt that there will be any conversions at this point. Everybody is pretty much set on where they stand with the whole Ricky debate. And I respect that.

that's like saying

I think Ricky is a moron for what he did, but if he takes the pounding instead of Ronnie for a few games then I'm ok with him coming back, and if he gest suspended right away as above post states, then in my mind it will be like he never came back
That sounds about right to me.

Who are you enigmatics? What are your vices? Do you smoke? Do you drink a lot? Are you addicted to internet porn? You know they say that 85% of people who spend significant amounts of time posting on forums are addicted to internet pornography and I see that you currently have over 2,000 posts on this forum alone. How many other forums do you post on? Does your wife or girlfriend know about your problem whatever it may be? Are you ashamed of your habit? Or, maybe you dont have any problems....maybe you are the perfect individual. You, sir, are an example for the rest of humanity. That is what gives you the NARDS to sit in your computer chair ( are you at work posting these comments? that would be dishonest man!!) and tell others how to make the right decision in every situation. The nerve!

You have done nothing but prove you're a hypocrit and a ret*rd when you challenge me about posting on the SAME internet site of which you post............and if you had taken the time to actual research your harrassing claims you would have seeen in my profile I average around ohhhhh uhh a little over 4 posts per day..........far from an addiction my little underling. Kudos..........

I didn't ignore the responses.........I had to go to work............ lol

I simply asked how people would have felt and every single one of you Ricky forgivers hit me with responses other than what I asked. Your favorite sports wouldn't be dodgeball would it?

I for one have never come out with a thread calling Ricky supporters losers. But if you keep making such claims, that definately makes you one my friend. I respect alot of things you say on here, but not in this thread.

Why do you keep trying to deny that he's a damn good back?
If he got suspended for a year I would have been pissed off. We would have sucked and perhaps more blame would be put on him, more than he got last year for retiring. Here's the difference: One year suspension, he comes back to the team (still a force because he's still on the team and has continued working out), we draft... say, quarterback or another area of need, and --because we sucked so bad without him-- the old regime is gone anyway. Our result? A young stud added to our team, new coaching staff, revamped Ricky Williams.
It doesn't matter how he left. Yes, he retired, and it was horrible timing (not to mention a ***** move). What if he had gotten hurt in preseason? What if he got suspended by the league? What if he had to be hospitalized? Whatever the reason, if the guy didn't play last year doesn't mean he is not a good running back.
He's a damn good back and it seriously cannot hurt the team if he comes back this season and (worst case scenario) retires again. We have Ronnie Brown and an all-new mentality, the guy's presence can only strengthen this team.

Who denied? Me? As far as it goes he WAS a good back......get it? WAS! ...........you have absolutely no idea what he's going to look like when he suits up again in Week 5...........none.............

The reason I brought up the question is due to the nature of everything that had transpired which shifted Ricky's abandonment to a whole plethora of metaphysical and soul-searching reasons............ how would you have felt about the man if he had gotten himself suspended, knowingly smoking weed after the NFL had warned him? Because again, underneath it all, that's why Ricky left the game. All that other b*llsh*t he fed to you is crap..........because he's back now............ and if it wasn't crap, then it shows you he's only doing this for the money .........either way i don't respect it.

I would not have a problem with Ricky getting a four game suspension. I have more of a problem with the league even testing for that crap. It's not a performance enhancing drug, and it doesn't him any less of a football player to me. I feel bad for Onterrio Smith for the same reason. If the man isn't cheating, leave him alone.

He was to be suspended for a year.........not four games.

Well first of all .. Ricky was looking at a 4 game suspension not a whole year. Hence is why he is only suspended for 4 games this time. His other smoking that you want to suspend him for a year took place after he was retired so therefore the league can not punish him for it.

Nope..........the NFL had caught him not only a second, but a third time.........Ricky knew this and that's why he ran instead of having to face the music of being caught as a drug offender in the NFL. Check the facts man. The NFL ended up reducing the suspension do to pleas from his agent and stroking the right people.

God is good all the time!!! AMEN.....
